Yes, I’ve started to take some Milk Thistle, half the suggested dose, as on a recent blood test my Albumin levels were a bit low, albeit in the normal range, so the general idea is to do something protective for my liver, although I don’t have any acute problems. I’ve been wondering about Ashwagandha.

Plenty of HDAC inhibition in that.

Yes, Resveratrol seems to have a slight effect in male mice median lifespan I’m not impressed by the data. I’m going to invest my money, time and energy on interventions which much delivers higher return. So when things go over at least 10% in max lifespan then it’s interesting for me to take a look at that intervention. But that’s me.

“However, in the present study, there was no effect of RES treatment when begun earlier, at 4 months of age. Thus, to date, effects of RES on mouse life span have been seen only in mice subjected to diets so high in fat that the principal cause of death was hepatosteatosis. It is possible that RES may be able to provide protection against the metabolic stresses induced by high-fat diets in mice and may help to delay age-related changes in function that do not modulate longevity in mice on a regular diet.”

Can you comment on TA-65 being used for anti-aging purposes?

My personal view is that telomere length is a function of how highly acetylated the histone is. I did find a paper that linked the expression of the hTERT gene to acetylation. I don’t think short telomeres in themselves cause the phenotypes of aging.
