Requires 65 and 12 GB RAM respectively, preferably with Mac and unified memory.

Part of the answer was disturbing because I have never posted this personal information anywhere other than Rapamycin News. This indicates that ChatGPT has thoroughly scoured the internet for personal information. This is somewhat disturbing, though working for a government contractor decades ago led me to believe that there is no longer any individual privacy, as we had very surprising information furnished by the government.

Thanks for the tip. Up to now, I’ve been using mainly Gemini Flash 2.5 (a leap ahead of the previous version) and Deepseek R3, both free to use. I don’t mind the privacy, I just want good, accurate answers.
After this post, I discovered that I have access to MS copilot chat, presently based on the new ChatGPT5 model. Very good to know it’s supposed to have higher capabilities in health-related issues, going to test it and relate back.

My first try with Copilot, supposedly using the GPT5 model, was not excessively encouraging. I chose a specific field I know, limit states in the dynamic design of buildings, but it made a big confusion, indicating one limitit state for another, far more severe. Must confess it was efficacious afterwards, but it surprised me negatively.
Then I switched to medicinal mushrooms, a field I’ve been researching, and here it was better. I posed the same question to google gemini and deepseek, and copilot was not very much ahead of deepseek. Maybe GPT5 has not been implemented yet?

I previously was using GPT-4. As far as I have observed, answers on medicinal mushrooms did not differ significantly across GPT-4o and GPT-5. A few other health-related answers did not show anything extraordinary, as advertised. I hope it’s going to be better than this.

Beware of HYPE. There’s been a lot of discussion of GPT-5 as it was being developed. The AI train has attracted a lot of money. The investments needed for GPT-5 were apparently significantly greater than GPT-4, so to keep the train going, they need to show significant advances with GPT-5 to justify the outsize investments needed. And scuttlebut I’ve heard - and occasional articles here and there - is that GPT-5 is a relatively minor refinement over GPT-4, and the current architecture of AI has reached its limits. GPT-5 is a minor bump of already existing architecture. So how do you justify the huge sums needed to keep the train going if the train has slowed down to a crawl and run out of rail length? In the short term, it’ll be HYPE, at least until people catch on that there isn’t any “there” there. Right now with the GPT-5 rollout there is a huge campaign of hype “revolution, AGI around the corner, blah, blah, blah”. We don’t need to fall for it - we need to ask for results - it’s show me time, not promise me time. Let’s see what they deliver. I’m naturally resistant to hype, so I’m not super optimistic. We’ll see.
