I have a lot of experience of politics. The power structures involve not just the people at the top, but also at lower levels.

Yes, girls are hitting puberty a lot earlier because of hormones found in both cowâs milk and meat. This according to a female family physician who worked with my daughter and lots other young girls⊠for decades.

From my point of view, chronological age is becoming a less reliable measuring stick. Appearance matters so much more today and of course, youth is fetishized. One day, when people ask how old you are, it will be normal just to say your biological age (based on the BioAge clock du jour). Look at the Japanese, and now the Koreans with J-Pop and K-Pop, youth is so fetishized that you might see a 90 year old carrying a teddy bear or wearing a Hello Kitty backpack.

I donât think anyone on this forum has the right to condemn people for wanting to look younger. Looking old equals inching closer to death.

Hey whoâs condemning?? Just keep your priorities straightâŠbeing more attractive doesnât mean youâre nicer, or a better person. And looking older doesnât mean youâre worn out with one foot in the grave. Again, the Japanese at least acknowledge that elders are likely to be wiser and more spiritual (even if they are wearing a Hello Kitty backpack).

Wisdom and spirituality donât mean anything once youâre dead.

But elders arenât the walking dead (although we do get treated that way) unless youâre making a Zombie movie.

Well I meant it in the context of looks and people just taking finasteride for balding. Taking finasteride for enlarged prostate is another story and it does improve quality of life although one could argue that just surgically shaving an enlarged prostate has its relative merits too.

Ouch.
Surgically shaving the prostateâŠ
Iâm just glad that I started on finasteride at a young age and my prostate remains small and healthy⊠according to my urologist. He tells me so many guys 60âs up have so many issues with their prostate. Guess it is prostate envy.
One less thing to deal with.
FYI - guys, finasteride is an easy prevention in my opinion. The ED is hype from my perspective. But⊠if concerned, take tadalafil too. Both are good for urinary health.

But, itâs Brad Pittâs job to look great. That, and he already won the genetic lottery.

Not to mention everyone was exposed to second hand smoking everywhere they went, even if they didnât smoke. Restaurants all smelled like ash trays. I remember this vividly as a kid.
Another thing is the benefits of exercise werenât well known. So many more people are exercising now compared to back then.

Jeanne Calment (1875 - 1997) is considered the oldest French woman ever, living to be 122 years and 164 days old. She was born in Arles, France and lived there her entire life. Calment is considered the best-documented supercentenarian in history, appearing in 14 census records starting in 1876 when she was one year old. She died in Arles on August 4, 1997

Just give @Agetron @desertshores or @RapAdmin a few more years. I bet one of them will beat Jeanne.

She had a great sense of humor.
Despite her faltering physical condition, Calment continued to show impressive mental acuity and high spirits. âIâve only ever had one wrinkle, and Iâm sitting on it,â she said when she turned 110.

Well there are people who are more health conscious, and then there are people who donât care the same way people back then didnât care either, but our food culture today makes those people fatter.

This was the point I was trying to make in the other thread - SaĂșde Cardiovascular
about pharmaceuticals versus nature being responsible for long lifespans.
@Virilius said âThere are mice in the ITP control group who live even longer than the mice in the treatment groups. Does this mean rapamycin/acarbose/etc. are useless?
Imo it is pointless to look at outliers. I donât have relatives who lived beyond 85 and donât live in a blue zone so chances are that without medication, I will die in my 80s aswell.â
Well, yes, people are fatter, but also we know much more about the benefits of diet, exercise, sleep and positive attitude and how to optimize them. So, Iâm glad to be an outlier (Iâm not fat), as Jeanne Calment was. And today, diet, exercise, sleep and positive attitude (no stress) - all natural, no pharmaceuticals - can take you a long way. Look at Jeanne Calment (yes, genes help). As I said, most people likely will benefit from a pharmaceutical for cardiovascular health/ApoB (Iâm doing that). But beyond that, the other 3 of the big 4 for metabolic health - blood glucose, inflammation (Hs-CRP) and blood pressure can probably be optimized without pharmaceuticals. I think just with that Iâll make it to 100. Add rapamycin, which I will, and 120 isnât out of the question (not to mention Longevity Escape Velocity). As far as adding one pharmaceutical after another, in my quest for longevity, I think Iâll wait for something that hits multiple targets (IL-11i) and hopefully doesnât have to be taken daily (cell reprogramming). And Iâve kinda accepted the fact that Iâm not gonna look younger ( but you can always surprise me).

Pollution, and more specifically diesel, ages the skin significantly. The less pollution and fewer cars and trucks that use diesel, the younger we will remain.
Buy electric cars!!

When it comes to public figures, especially entertainment people (both executives and talent), there is practically no treatment, pill, surgical procedure, etc. that is too much to look like you are still in your 20s. For instance, micro-dosing a multitude of molecules has become fashionable. Women often micro-dose testosterone to âtone upâ for instance, which is off-label. J-Lo is rumored to do this. And then we have Kim Kardashian who has basically done it all, making Michael Jackson look like an Amish person in comparison.
The pressure is particularly on women, but men feel it a lot also.
Has brad pit had work? Almost certainly. Has Waltz? Well no, he is an old-school Midwesterner.
