I am vegetarian tho eat salmon about every ten days. DId OmegaCheck at Labcorp and very low.Believe it or not, Trader Joes Fish Oil caps are great, no taste, no burp, well tested and my f/u OmegaCheck much improved. Just like with testosterone replacement, statins, etc, use the available data from labs to make decisions and adjust dosages.

Hey, that’s heavy…
Guess I’m right up there with David Sinclair’s list of failures…things could be worse.

About how many grams per week do you eat of those fish?

Thanks I used these several times in the past and just did one so this was a great time to restock for my next text in ~3months.
People - when doing experiments here - remember that it takes ~3ish months (similar to HbA1c to “completely update”)

Is anyone else here not able to tolerate Omega 3s? I have tried multiple times with excellent sources and each time, around the 72 hour mark I hit the couch. Completely enervated. I stop the supplement and I’m back to normal within 24 hours. I have searched for any info on this and all I come up with is Brian Peskin’s work which is hard to believe as he is the only one with a negative outlook on Omega 3s but he is pushing parent essential oils (PEOs) and he sells them.
Would love some direction on this as I feel that I am missing out on an important health hack.

There is some risks of AFIB. Have you ever had any issues with that? Apple Watch and other wearables can now check for that - at I believe FDA cleared reliability levels.

No AFIB and oddly straight DHA causes the fatigue as well, though it takes longer to hit.

I have a 13.2% Omega Index.
I take 1200mg EPA + 1200mg DHA from Momentous omega 3 (1:1 EPA:DHA) because they are certified NSF for sport to be sure they are not contaminated.
Momentous Omega-3 stands out for its exceptional purity, potency, and sustainability. It undergoes molecular distillation for maximum purity, is regularly tested for lead and mercury levels, and contains a minimum of 90% triglyceride-bound omega-3s. Additionally, we’ve enhanced the formula with lipase to improve bioavailability, ensuring you receive the full benefits of omega-3 fatty acids

Here’s some good news re: omega 3’s that I wouldn’t have expected given all the recent negative news on omega 3’s. I take Thorne fish oil.

William Harris is the founder of Omegaquant. I sent you my results of 9.5 on the index scale. I eat 170grams everyday of sockeye salmon. At least 6 out of 7. I only eat fish once a day.
eat salmon, herring or sardines everyday. I don’t take any fish oil supplements and my index is over 9.5

Ah, that explains it. Thanks.

Great reference. As a stand alone, the evidence for Omega 3’s for vascular disease has been a bit of a fail. It makes sense that DHA/EPA should improve vascular health. Most of my patients are on low dose statins, so this further supports yet another benefit of Omega 3’s.
