I’ve been using Function since they went into "beta"test mode. I’ve had three years of tests in the $499 and add the grail and other tests as well.
Their customer service is very good. Scheduling the blood draw is easy and their prompts to quit supplements a few days in advance and other reminders are helpful.
Explanations of each test with a doctor comment around test groupings, ie - cardiovascular, immune, organ function etc are also very good.
Grail is expensive at another $500 but i feel this is well worth it.
I wouldnt pursue a scan unless I had 2 grail positive results (initial and immediate subsequent to check for false positive).
My overall philosophy is to understand as much as I can about my biology but try and draw the line before becoming hypochondriac. Basically its similar to being an athlete and drawing the line at over training.
I’m 70 and still maintain a very robust output in my daily routine. Currently training to hike across the grand canyon, target under 11 hours.
I feel ones ability to function at a high physical and mental level is the best test one can take. Finding appropriate fun “tests” like hiking or learning new subject matter - especially with AI as a tool, is the way to go.
