Along the same lines a recent study by Harvard Medical school indicated that wives who carry a little extra weight in middle age live longer than husbands who mention it!

An alternative perspective is that people who appear to be more healthy are more attractive.

And the healthier you get, the longer you live and the better you look!
I do actually think this is true to a significant degree.
