A funny, but real, story from my recent visit to the Longevity Summit conference. I mentioned I run the rapamycin news website to a guy I was talking to, and his response was “I have a tattoo of a Moai statue on my back”. and “I’d show it to you but we’re in the middle of the conference gathering area and I’d have to take my shirt off”

But it wasn’t because he was an extreme rapamycin fan… he had visited Rapa Nui and enjoyed it there, so got the tattoo at some point later.

A few years ago I remember going to a Vitamin Shoppe and as I started to look through the supplements one of the workers came up to me and asked, “can I help you find anything?” I told her, “sure… I’m looking for NAD boosters.” And she thought about it for a second with an odd expression, then started directing me towards some men’s health products. She thought I was asking, “where can I find a product to boost my nads / male organ?” It was a struggle to keep from laughing; but I quickly told her about the molecule NAD and that I was basically just looking for variants of vitamin b3 / niacin. She said, “OHHHH!.. yeah, it’s over here.”
(And, as funny as that sounds, I am not making it up. This is exactly what happened.)
