Hello, All  -

I’d like to ask the women of this community,

especially any who had already been in Menopause (stopped getting a Period, for at least a year),

and secondarily, those who had been in Perimenopause (were still getting a Period …once in a while) -

if you started Rapamycin AFTER being in Menopause (or Perimenopause),

what effect, if any, did it have, on

you getting your Period,

and/or your Reproduction,

and/or your Menopausal/Perimenopausal symptoms (Hot Flashes, etc.)?

…And how long did/has any effect had, last(ed) -

like, if it brought back your Period,

for how long have you had it back, or how long did you have it back before it started to stop or get less frequent again?

…Hope to hear from some women …and hopefully with positive results,

that Rapa maybe brought back your Period, and maybe even helped your Reproduction…

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond -

…I am so happy to be a member of this community -

…you all made me feel so welcome right from the start -

and all really actively help each other!

…Wishing you all (ladies AND men) the best of health!

Hi - there have been lots of discussions on this in the past. Hopefully some women will add their experiences here and update us.

I recommend you also review these past discussions on this topic, where many people have posted their experiences:

I’m post menopausal for about 4 years and on HRT. I started low dose rapa at 1 mg per week and just took my third weeks dose, upping to 2 mg. Since starting rapa, I’ve had feelings of hormonal fluctuations, a few twinges in my ovaries, breast tenderness and today a feeling of weepiness and insecurity (that’s how it feels although who knows. It’s a feeling I remember well but have not dealt with in years). All these subjective symptoms may be unrelated, my imagination or due to rapa simply making my hrt dose unstable. I am glad to hear from others who are experiencing any changes so that we can compare notes.

hi, @Nlo , thanks for taking the time to respond!

and, if you would be so kind as to continue to share your experiences, it would mean so much to me -

i’m so anxious to learn as many other women’s experiences, as i can -

here is my experience, so far:

…i started rapa on november 29, and have been taking 6mg a week,

for one week shy of 3 months,

having missed 1 week (so, a 2 week gap) unfortunately, due to that i became very sick (respiratory), due to the rapa having weakened my immunity ;

…i am 43, and had thought that i was heading toward menopause very soon,

because, i had stopped getting a certain symptom from my body that i would always get when i was ovulating,

and …while i don’t yet know if it is increasing the likelihood of me getting pregnant

(which i Would be open to, but have not been trying - but if i do try, however it goes, i Will post here),

…within i think, the first month,

i got that sign that i am ovulating -

AND,

i did actual bloodwork, and,

(thankfully, Quest shows a chart of my past results!)

my FSH -

which,

during the last 4 years, i did IVF,

and was INJECTING FSH

(so that may have falsely elevated my levels -

i know for a fact, that, one time, i over did it with the injections, and,

my FSH went to …23 :frowning: -

and then,

after ivf i did not test my fsh for a whole year,

and,

that time i did,

it was 10 -

but i don’t remember whether i checked, that time, On The Proper Day Of My Cycle -

i try to always do it on Day 3,

“Day 3 FSH,”

as, Every Day After That, In Your Cycle, It Only Gets Higher ;

…and there were a few times BEFORE IVF,

when, I also cannot remember whether I checked at the right time, unfortunately,

but I had one other 10, and 11,

and Now…)

…My Day 3 FSH was only 5.4

(! …i know this might be a fluke thing,

but i am very hopeful…) -

And,

I CONFIRMED, with my MD -

he says i’m NOT PERIMIENOPAUSAL / approaching Menopause any time soon -

i really hope this holds out…

…i will try to check, next cycle, again on Day 3,

and see if it has stayed low,

or even …gotten lower,

and Post Updates

…and i so hope it is because

the Rapa might be rejuvenating my ovaries,

i do hope so…

…Good Luck, Everyone,

and Good Health!

Tomorrow I will take my fourth dose of rapa. I went from 1 mg to 2 mgs last week. Post menopausal for 4ish years? I’m on hrt and recently added testosterone gel to the mix. I began feeling breast tenderness somewhere in the first two weeks of taking rapa. I did not have any breast tenderness prior. Since then, I have been messing around with my estradiol dose thinking I could reduce from 1.5 to 1.25 to 1 mg. I’ve definitely felt ovary twinges in the past two weeks. Not sure what’s caused what, but I’m cramping and spotting now. Could be my dosing changes, but could be the rapa. In any case, I’ll keep posting.

Hopefully more women will respond… I’m 49 and perimenopausal, I still get a period regularly… I come from a family with late menopause, my mother was 62 when she had her last period, my grandmother was 64… my sister is 52 and still gets a period every month, so I plan to be on the same path…
I started rapamycin 3 weeks ago and went from 3mg to 6mg on week three… I have not had any noticeable differences yet, but I also have to admit that I’m in great physical shape, so it’s not always easy to see big differences… I have been on testosterone pellets for about 3 years, my estradiol has remained in the normal range for someone of child bearing years, so I haven’t needed that yet…
I’m not trying to necessarily change my fertility status, but rather enhance my anti aging regimen, which includes delaying the symptoms of menopause… I also do a peptide stack twice a year to help with natural growth hormone stimulation… I will update this thread if I see noticeable changes…the articles admin attached are pretty interesting!

I have shared my situation in one of the links provided, but so you don’t have to dig through them……

I’m almost 59. I didn’t hit menopause (the 12 months) until aprox June of last year, at 58. Within a couple of weeks, I did start to cycle again on my 6mg of weekly of rapa that I began in May. It’s been very sporadic and I mostly don’t have it, but it’s still coming. Hope that helps!

( that’s awesome, Beth! - well, unless it’s inconvenient for you to be getting a period again?! -

thanks SO much for sharing, here, and helping us get this knowlege [and for me, it’s very encouraging and makes me happy, too :)]

hugs  nevergiveup!.. )

My post is above and I will update to say that I ended up with a full blown period after my first month of low dose weekly rapa. It is too early to know if this will happen again and some women on this site have reported only experiencing this once at the start of rapa. There’s also the possibility that some of this was withdrawl bleeding as I had to stop my hrt for a few days. I have not been able to go back to my previous hrt levels because my body kept signaling that my levels were too high so I am now restarting with tiny doses. Sorry no actual lab data to support my somatic symptoms.

wow, @Nlo, “congratulations!” -

IF this is something that makes you happy  -

i know for me, getting a period …while i’m getting them, “i want to complain” -

but when i think that my fertility could be going away …and/or that i’m getting really aged ---- well i want to delay that as much as possible! -

so the experiences being shared here, are very encouraging for me, and i’m so happy

…hoping you continue to get the results You want -

whether that’s, the consistent return of your periods (and that it’s because of the rapa, not just a withdrawal bleed from lower hrt),

or a rejuvenation of your fertility,

or healthspan!

and thank you so much for taking the time to actually come back and update!

all of you are helping other women, by recording these experiences!

…safety, good health, and blessings to you!

thank you @Tracy_Henry for taking the time to contribute!

as you still get your period regularly,

…i don’t know whether you ever get “signs” that you are ovulating,

or even …use ovulation prediction kits, but,

i (also still get my period as normal, but) wasn’t noticing the sign that i was ovulating -

then i started rapa, and that sign came around -

so maybe that’s one change you might notice

(and/or, i use clear blue ovulation prediction kits,

the digital ones,

and it’s the one that says, “predicts your Four (4) most fertile days” [the other tests predict 2])

good health, & good luck to you!

Could you please tell me what are the peptides dosage you take for growth hormone stimulation? Thank you

There is a great website that gives a breakdown of each and the dosing schedule:

I have used CJC1295 and ipamorelin together with great results. I have also used Epitalon and thymulin.

Update… first, just to recap… I’m perimenopausal and still get a period regularly… after week 5 of rapamycin I definitely went back to the pre-period symptoms that I had in my 20s and 30s… I had big time breast tenderness (this had dissipated with age) and I had the weird dysmorphia of feeling like none of my clothes fit (again, something that dissipated with age)… I’m taking rapamycin for the anti-aging benefit, so if slowing menopause is part of the answer, I’ll take it… I’m taking 3mg a week… I went up to 6 for two weeks in a row and didn’t see any significant difference (I did not have any side effects), I went back down to 3mg after doing a lot of reading… I’m not the best person to ask about other effects, I’m in great physical shape and didn’t have any aches or pains to begin with or other maladies…I felt great before I started, so I’ll update with any noticeable changes!

I just wanted to chime in and congratulate and thank everyone who has shared their experiences. I do not have a uterus so it’s nearly impossible for me to say anything with certainty but early on I too had a return of some mild pms type symptoms which have continued intermittently for about 2 years now although not every month. I’m happy to feel more like my premenopausal self anyway.
