It has been over 2 months now. Anyone been using 2dDR and can report visible results? Especially those who had already stabilized their hair with existing medication already.

Mine is in the refrigerator. Been busy with summer activities and travel. Just got back and will start my test in the next week or so.

I’ve been using Elevai facial serum for about a year and like it. I can not speak to if the exosomes/stem cells work, but my skin has been happy. I might be a sucker parting with their money (but I’m using a 20% off holiday code, so there’s that!)

I see they are introducing a scalp product. (I’d skip their shampoo/condiioner)

Does anyone believe this might potentially work?

Here is a screen shot
the visual is so dramatic that I tend not to believe it. It’s being introduced in January, so there is not too much info out there on it yet.

I currently use rogaine aprox 3-4x a week as a hopeful preventative.

Hey @Agetron @RapAdmin - how are you two making out with the 2-Deoxy-D-ribose? I just tried to order some today.

As an update: I have been playing with ‘the formula’, adding and subtracting things over time. I also started oral minox a couple of months ago. I started at 2.5mg, no issues. I increased the dose to 2.5mg plus 1/2 a 2.5mg pill of 3.75mg. I noticed some swelling in my legs this week and my ankles ballooned up. I reduced back to 2.5mg.

I also ordered the ‘roots’ kit to see what my DNA said. Interesting readout.

Too early to tell how their formula compares to mine. I will prob try it for a couple of months and then DIY it. It isn’t too expensive.

If you’re using oral minoxidil it makes no sense to continue 2DDR because it’s impossible to tell whether you got any additional growth on top of oral minoxidil.

Looking good Dan.

Actually,I have really cut back on hair treatment application to every 3rd or 4th day – (to my detriment).
Hair is currently at its thinnest. I didn’t see the big change with 2-Deoxy-D-ribose - but, I’ve been thinking.

I am going to go at harder
 every other day
create a solution of 2-Deoxy-D-ribose to go on hair in shower like a conditoner, but I don’t wash out I towel buff in. Going to try it.

Will see how that does in the next 3 months.

Yeah I understand stacking makes it hard to sus out what is working. I just keep rotating through things hoping I will be one of those people with before and after photos where people are like, “wow, I want to try what that dude is doing”.

There is pre-mixed ribose gel on Etsy.

I got the below gel (.5%), two weeks ago.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1810743732/2-deoxy-d-ribose-05-gel-3-month-supply?click_key=b2aab93499efaf1ffea334402c5f27d21942fcf5%3A1810743732&click_sum=f148b3e0&external=1&rec_type=cs&ref=pla_similar_listing_top-4&frs=1

Turns out there is a more potent version (2.5%)

Will try that later. I have been on topical zizyphus jujube oil for about five days now.

https://www.ergo-log.com/chinesedateoil.html

*The oil from seeds of the Chinese date – full name Zizyphus jujuba – enhances hair growth. Rub the oil into the skin on your head, and your hair will get thicker. At least that’s what happened with the mice that researchers at Daegu University, Korea, did experiments on. The researchers published the results of their study in Food and Chemical Toxicology.

Ah - I’ve been too busy to focus on this. I still have it sitting in my refrigerator waiting for testing. Sorry - no results to report as yet.

I was taking minoxidil 5mg per day for about 6 month and while it seemed to halt any loss, it didn’t lead to any new growth. Now I’m trying a Finasteride 0.3% Minoxidil 6% Serum by HIMs. No results to report yet.

So I made my skunk works conditioner for after a shampoo. The problem was just putting it in dry hair made it sticky and wouldn’t dry.
Now trying 2-Deoxy-D-ribose again in the shower. will be more consisitent if it goes on and dries better.

Receipe:
2 tablespoon of 2-Deoxy-D-ribose (2dDR).

1 tablespoon of Sodium Alginate

1/2 fluid ounce of Propylene glycol (PG)

1/2 fluid ounce of Phenoxyethanol

1 fuild ounce of 5% minoxidil topical solution

5 eyedropper squirts of 99.9% DMSO unscented

All mixed together. Will use in a few minutes.

I would think the sodium alginate would thicken the mixture excessively (?).

It went on fairly - liquidly
I let it set for 10 minutes while I lotioned up
 . put on cologne
 got dressed.

Buffed it with a towel
then buff it again at a half hour. It looked fine
now if it will grow the fine hairs
 lol.

Gotcha, thank you @RapAdmin - out of curiosity did you ever get any edema from the oral Minox?

I have also started 2.5mg oral minoxidil due to a) hair greed and b) research showing at least some effect on elastin production (but mostly due to reason a).
My heart rate is obviously on the higher end of health now because both minoxidil and tirzepatide raise it but at least my dystolic value is finally <80.
Going through a shed right now but it doesn’t really matter because my hair is already very thick from 1mg finasteride. My goal is mostly to grow back my childlike hairline from the existing vellus hair.

No, not at all. No noticeable side effects at all.

Hey Dan
I started oral Minoxidil 5 mg nightly
at the same time I upped my rapamycin significantly from 6 mg rapa weekly to about 18 mg every 7 -10 days
I got edema in my ankles
 and thought it was Minoxidil
 but after 7 months
 when I lowered the rapamycin
back to 6 mg weekly the edema went away
never came back. Continued Minoxidil past 1.5 years to this day 5 mg oral nightly
 no swelling.

I can feel my hair is much thicker
even back center. Just not on the top front. 5 mg each daily Finesteride and Minoxidil orally
 good combo.

Why I thought the swelling was Minoxidil was from reports it was a side effect
that typically went away after a few months. FYI.

Update
I have used the apply in shower method for 3 days straight
a bit got in my eyes
 damn it burned
but being in the shower was easy to flush my eyes.

I have to say this way of applying seems the best for me
first shampoo hair and rinse out
let hair kind of dry in shower
apply a good squirt from the container - it is in clear bottle applier bought in travel sized products at Wal-Mart
rub it in and then while scrubbing down it sets

Pop out of shower and dry off
 lotion up
cologne up
then with a special black hand towel
 buff the wet hair
 dry
wait 10 minutes or more and buff it again. Hair is thicker from the product. FYI.

I will do this for a few months and report back on hair growth. As always
the hard part is finding a way to be consistent. This seems to work for me.

Will be interesting to see if you get regrowth that is unusally strong compared to just topical finasteride. Anything beyond 0.25-0.5 a Norwood regrown over 6-12 months would be indicative of something else in your stack being effective.

As for me with my 2.5mg oral minoxidil experiment, I am shedding hundreds of hairs every single day but my hair is somehow even denser LOL. Only the hairline is still not really responding yet, though I am willing to run this experiment for at least 6 months. And I’ve moved to taking oral minoxidil in the evening because my body was seeming to accumulate water. Should be better now because I don’t drink as much water late in the evening.
