I started a tiny dose of oral rapa one week ago, 1 mg. I had fatigue, calmness, some increased aches and pains in areas that previously did not hurt, and decrease in chronic shoulder pain, but the most significant effect was a slightly itchy, sore, slightly lumpy scalp for the past 6 days. I know that some people will say it is impossible to have many effects after a single tiny dose, but we are all different with different sensitivities. What could this scalp rash mean?

Yes, some of us have noticeable effects even at 1mg rapa. Effects can vary widely. Many of us have found that our reactions change across time even with the same dose. Sometimes subtly, sometimes not. Yours may as well. I also have had fatigue, calmness, and some increased aches and pains (as well as reduction of aches and pains.) Itchy, sore bumps – yep, that, too. I’ll let others talk about what it might mean, but know that you are not alone in reacting to 1mg.

Rashes are pretty common with rapamycin. People use hydrocortisone cream, etc. to help with them. They may become less frequent with time; everyone is different. I had one early on, and never again.
