Over the weekend, I upped my dosage to 4 mg + GFJ + EVOO. On Saturday I felt really good with a stronger feeling of euphoric fatigue. This feeling continued on Sunday but by Sunday afternoon I had a small less than 10-minute feeling of mild nausea and sweating. After that passed, the euphoric fatigue came back. Today, I feel amazing as if my whole body is refreshed. I am also taking Metformin and Acarbose plus a host of supplements.

I am a little concerned about nausea because that only happened in the past when I exercised or was exposed to intense sunlight after taking Rapamycin. This time no exercise or sunlight was involved.

I also had a little bit of a bubbling sensation behind my sternum. It felt like a gas bubble, but seemed to be in a weird place unlike the gas in my intestines from the acarbose. Any idea what that could be?

Either way, I feel great today.

Bubbling behind the sternum could be a-fib. A good blood pressure cuff will tell you.

Yes, I was concerned it may be something like afib. Especially since the bubbling feeling was sometimes followed by weakness and dizziness. It only started happening this year and only on a couple occasions. I am getting a full heart exam and physical in July.

My blood pressure is fine. 121/78. How would a blood pressure cuff tell you about afib?

Not really sure how, but mine just put the words irregular heartbeat and then an error, which looked like afib. After that I checked a few other devices around the house and ended up going to the ER. They confirmed afib. Iā€™ve felt it a couple times since and it feels as you describe.

Heart rate should be elevated because itā€™s so inefficient.

Well then crap. Although I just checked with my parents and it seems it runs in the family. You just canā€™t escape genetics. I guess itā€™s better to be informed and do something than to die in ignorance. Thanks for the info.

Has any one seen any side effects regarding scar raising, I have these stretch marks iā€™ve had since puberty for when I grew for the most part they have been flat for all these years but right after my second rapa dose Iā€™ve noticed one part of them is raised and looks almost like scar pimples. It could be the rapa or possibly the goats milk soap iā€™ve started using 1-2 times a week. But so far the rapa has given me really good sleep and iā€™ve already noticed positive effects.

Imo itā€™s most likely not Rapa because it was only the second dose for you. With 2 spread apart doses your Rapa blood trough level could not be high enough for such a dramatic change.

i donā€™t (didnā€™t that is as i havenā€™t taken any in last several weeks because of mouth sores and other issues) take too much. I have written the calculated amount more than once from the rat does. Those 2 items neuā€¦, lymp,ā€¦ like all others as i have noted are within bounds if not written specifically assuming they were part of the tests to begin with. Again that is certainly NOT alarming high dosage. And making adjustments for taking also ketoconazole as some do is just plain WRONG especially with regard to trough values which is my main concern. And rat doses were everyday not every 5 days and that is very significant. I forgot one thing is that i also take metformin in addition to the other items already listed. When i start to do it again if i have local injection area ā€¦ whatever u call them i may switch to oral.

My husband had good luck getting rid of his afib using mega doses of Taurine. I believe there was a Dr Ebay( hard to google him)

N=1; I had afib ā€¦ skipped beats, often a pattern of 3 or 4 beats then a skip; tried various minerals/vitamins to solve the problem to no avail ā€¦ until I started drinking more liquid throughout the day. I am told that elders often donā€™t register thirst very well (= me, apparenty) and can easily slip into mild dehydration. Try to drink more H2O folks!

Actually, dehydration could be part of the issue. I have been drinking a lot more coffee than water lately. Time to restore the balance!

So Iā€™ve been taking 2 mg rapamycin once a week for two weeks, this week I took 2 mg + GFJ.

One day after dosing, I have slight pain in my face while laying down which I am 70% sure is sinusitis.
I think Iā€™ve had chronic problems with it on and off, and it seems immune supressing made it acute again.

From now on I think I am going to add in doxy when taking rapamycin. I donā€™t want to risk bacterial infections or at least have it on hand. Feels I had fever or am sick also, feeling slightly cold, or warm, alternately, you know. Oura ring only detect +0.3 C temperature deviation, which is one, but not too much.

If i feel sick after taking rapamycin, it might literally be an infection from some reservoir like sinusesā€¦

2 mg + GFJ might be too much for me also, it might increase rapa way more than expected.

I had started Rapa by starting at 1 mg and worked up to 6 mg (obviously by the 5th week). I developed a pretty bad skin sensitivity all over my body. I felt no effects until that point. I stopped the rapa but now, 4 weeks later, I still have it. I also started a low dose of a statin as prescribed by my Dr. around the same time.

I really havenā€™t had a rash. Just a feeling similar to a sunburn. The dermatologist thought it possibly a reaction to the statin, which Iā€™ve stopped as well. I really have no idea whether this is connected to the rapamycin, the statin, or something else. Itā€™s very uncomfortable.

Anyone else have any similar reactions and/or any thoughts on what to do? I was so looking forward to tying rapamycinā€¦ I guess it remains to be seen if I ever start again or not.

I never had that problem on rapamycin, but remembering going trough statin side effects there were also skin problems and skin flushing mentionedā€¦

Combination of Rapa and statin did give me skin sensitivity in the past which culminated in shingles. Had to discontinue statin and take a break from Rapa.

1.5 years on Rapa- definitely thinning nails they use to be healthy. Wonder what else in the body has changed since taking Rapa that no blood test can reveal?

How are your nails? I use to have strong nails in a year and half they are weak, thinning

8 weeks on Rapa @ 60yo (6mg,1 dose per week). A couple canker sores (1 at a time) that lasted 3 days. Cholesterol/LDL/triglycerides up slightly but still not high. HDL up a lot (40 to 60). Glucose down a bit. I always feel ā€œoffā€ for a couple days (on day 2 & 3) but I have no metrics to explain (HR, HRV normal).

You feel off as in tired? How would you describe the feeling in more detail?

Perhaps a little tired. But my resistance and cardio training are unaffected. I just feel different in a way that is not better but not bad. It disappears after 2-3 days.
