Thanks Beth, Now if I could just get my face to cooperate! Hahaha

You are probably better off walking daily without wearing shoes for a mile or so in your back yard (or in a park if you donā€™t have a backyard).

For me walking with shoes is better for my feet. Less dry feet. Less issues. No crack heels.

@desertshores Now I know what you mean by diarrhea caused by Rapamycin at 6 mg + GFJ. Iā€™ve been having odd diarrhea since taking my dose on Saturday. It smells more acidic and is more of a reddish-brown color. Itā€™s kind of the same as when I took too much Astaxanthin. How long does it take for yours to clear up?

Is there any reason why diarrhea is a sign we are taking too much Rapamycin? Do you feel it is a harbinger of ill effects?

Mine occur approximately 36 hours from taking too high of a dose. You can avoid this by taking an anti-diarrheal such as Imodium.
Mine always cleared up the next day. I have had no diarrhea since I found out that the maximum dosage I could take without getting diarrhea was 5 mg with GFJ.

No, I donā€™t think it is a harbinger of ill effects. I had many occasions of diarrhea when I first started taking rapamycin at high doses 2 1/2 years ago. Looking at many different papers I wouldnā€™t be surprised at any negative side effect a person might experience from taking rapamycin. Forum members have described a wide variety of side effects.

Here is an exhaustive list of side effects and it includes your ā€œreddish-brown colorā€

Yet another bacterial infection. This time from an insect bite. Itā€™s lymphangitis where the bacteria is traveling in a line from the bite to my lymph node.

Iā€™ll be taking doxycycline.

Clearly, no one is suggesting walking around with no shoes on all day long. However, I have read many times that walking without shows for a mile or so is beneficial.

Diarrhea may be an adverse event according to this. 6 mg +GFJ may be equivalent to 12-24 mg oral without GFJ. ā€œThis study showed that substances known a furanocoumarins, plentiful in some forms of grapefruit juice, can decrease the breakdown of rapamycin. This makes the drug reach higher levels in the bloodstream, two to four times the levels seen without a juice boost, and thus increases the amount of the drug that reaches its targets.ā€

My weekly dose is 16mg with GFJ and at most I feel a little tipsy 2 hours after taking it. Iā€™m trying to see how much I can tolerate.

Heā€™s using Siroboon, so itā€™s like 1.6 mg with GFJ.

Or are you encapsulating it? Then it is more like 16 mg with GFJ. :open_mouth:

I put them in enteric capsules :joy:. 13.5ng/L after 24 hours

This week I increased to 20mg in an effort to finish them quicker.

But I must admit I could use them for the spray instead.

@Agetron swelling in face? I didnā€™t know that can happen.

Yes.
And, ankles that dent in and stays when pushed with a finger.

Never had that before. Iā€™m 49 still :joy:.

Edema doesnā€™t depend on age but rather on how well your kidneys work. Rapa may affect them if overdosed.

Since going back to a normal dose of rapamycin 6 mg a week that issue resolved within a month, and it hasnā€™t been a problem for over a year.

Skinny tight legs. Hahaha.

Yes I noticed my kidney function score not very happy. I thought I just increase my water consumption.

I think what I will do is get a eGFR test at 24 hours and at 1 week after taking rapamycin to see if there is any changes. That will confirm that rapamycin causing the autophagy to work hard removing all the crap from our body. Next week I will do the test.

If you are worried about your kidneys, you could take an SGLT2I.

Iā€™ve added jardiamet to my daily list. 12.5/1000. Is that what youā€™re referring to.
