This is at least half of the pleasure of pursuing healthy longevity ….thinking hard and even overthinking about interesting things. Other people do crossword puzzles (or Wordle). I used to play chess. Now I don’t have time. But this is more fun.

I am exploring how this medication affects me versus sildenafil. As part of this I am sharing and also obtaining information. When I get to the point that I can find a dose that provides optimal benefits with minimal amount and side effects, or just decide this is not the way to go, I have not thought about it enough.

Still good evidence exists for Tadalafil, longer half life so it’s better for sexual spontaneity, and it doesn’t need to be taken on an empty stomach like Sildenafil.
I also happen to have a prescription for it so it’s just more practical for me. I have 2.5mg tabs now.

I agree. Of course, I have severe side effects at higher doses. Hence trying to find the right dose (with little or no side effects). But as indicated earlier “other” benefits have stayed relatively the same or close (regardless of dose).

What brand of Tadalafil do you guys buy? Vidalista? Is there a more reputable manufacturer? Any issues with products from India?

Vidalista for me also…no issue seems to do what’s supposed to do.

A relative had quite bad flu like symptoms for 1.5 months on low dose daily Tadalafil. Initially he had not realised it was caused by the Tadalifil, and had a consult scheduled with his GP because of ongoing debilitating coughing day and night. Until he ceased taking Tadalifil and the coughing ceased quickly - he tried again, and the coughing returned. Did such symptoms disappear for anyone with time?

no, these symptoms seem to stick with you. It is kind of weird because for most drugs your body will get used to it at some point, not with Tadalafil. The only thing that alleviated the symptom is taking a low dose, in my case 1.25 have almost zero sides, and at 2.5 very little, (mainly a bit of stuffy nose). the benefits are almost the same as with 10mg/higher doses. To me there is literally no reason to take higher than 5mg max, but 2.5mg should be good enough for most.

Thanks so much. That’s a pity to hear. He was on 2.5mg per day. Perhaps he can still give 1.25mg a try.

My wife has orthostatic hypotension : The doctor reduced her hypertension meds and added Sildenafil at bedtime, so blood pressure is lowered only at night (when orthostatic hypotension doesn’t matter, as long as you don’t have to get up to pee!). In men, Sildenafil, should also help with BPH, but will only work for around 8 hours, which should be enough to get a good night’s sleep.
PS : My wife takes only 25mg Sildenafil : The usual dose for nocturnal hypertension treatment is 25-50mg, which is lower than the typical dosage for male ED.

Also, the consumption of beetroot and rucola will be positive. Do you know about the down-regulation of NO if using it? Do you create tolerance? Thanks

Thanks for the tip. I learn something every day on Rapa News.
I was wondering why my daytime flow was so much better than my nighttime flow even though I take Flomax at bedtime. So, after reading your post I decided to take sildenafil at bedtime.
Sildenafil works much better than Flomax for me. Now I will take sildenafil in a divided dose, one in the morning and one at bedtime.
I think sildenafil at bedtime would be a good addition to someone’s sleep stack, especially for older men.

@desertshores What dose of Sildenafil will you take each time?
I am currently taking 25mg in the morning and 25mg before bedtime.
I split 50mg pills. I was surprised by how it improved sleep quality.

@desertshores, this is interesting; did you at the same time discontinue your use of tadalafil? Always looking for sleep hacks. I will try this!
Yes, I discontinued the use of tadalafil some time ago.

From my own personal experience, I cut 20mg tablets into 1/4 and that 5mg that way daily. It has worked great for me. I’ve experienced a noticeable difference in progress at the gym.

The Intra-Meatal Application of Tadalafil Cream Versus Oral Administration Efficacy and Safety: Results from a Randomized, Two-Administration Route, Cross-Over Clinical Trial 2024
MDPI paper from Romani so low-quality but apparently tadalafil cream topically administered might be more effective and safer than oral tadalafil so that “At the end of the trial, 88.57% of participants preferred tadalafil cream (95% CI 73.26%–96.79%), a result significantly above the non-inferiority margin that indicated superiority (p < 0.001).”
But would it have cardiovascular / longevity benefits @DrFraser?

The evidence grows… and is getting harder! Lol
Cialis or generic tadalafil has great benefits to mens health in 5 area’s.
Here a quick overview, with excellent concise explanation. Going on 3 years plus… 5 mg daily rocks.

For pill splitting, I use a pill splitter like the one below.
