@dicarlo2 Dr Sherr was talking about 15-20mg per day. Much bigger doses would only be used for acute issues like an infection.

If you have great mitochondria why even look for help with MB? What is the symptom you were looking to solve?

Low energy/mood. Itā€™s not easy to tell if you have great mitochondria, thereā€™s not really a test for that, so taking something like MB can help indicate if itā€™s truly energy/mitochondrial related or something else. For me, itā€™s something else.

Took my MB last night - clear due to vitamin C. Slightly cut the dose to 4 ounces

Piss was even more blue this morningā€¦ then yesterday.

Will be doing 1/3 of a bottle (12 fluid ounces) each night for now.

Did it affect your sleep? Worse, no difference or better? I have heard that it might go both ways. I have only tried taking MB at night once, and then my REM sleep was 9 minutes! Of course, I have to do more tests to see if there is a pattern in my personal sleep architecture or not.

@Agetron What is your dosage? Here is a conversion chart.

Hey Joseph,

Here is how I determine my dose - 21 drops approx.(1 mL) in 12 ounces or 355 mL of purified water with 1000 mg of vitmain C.

The 12 ounces and MB is divided by 3ā€¦ 4 ounce doses, so 7 drops (3.5 mg) per dose.

I take 4 ounces - 118 mL containing 7 drops of MB (3.5 mg) at night 10 pm. I wake in the morning at 6:30 am to blue urine. And it stays blue for a second round of urinating at 10 am.

If you take 15 drops of MB ā€“ I am taking about half your dose.

Seeing the staying power of the blue in my urine. I am going to stick to this dose for now.

Hey Curious - has only been my second night using MB - but definitely sleep issues this past night.
Will try again tonight - if sleep issues persist - I might switch to taking it at noon.

Cool. Definitely only use what gives you the effect you want. At that small of a dose you can take every day, in my understanding.

Iā€™ve taken 12 mg (capsule) before bed 3 times now and it worked great twice. So hit and miss. Capsule also contains 235 mg Cacao powder, which is probably the problem.

I take 2 in the day and get a pretty good boost, donā€™t do it very often because I donā€™t need to. I generally feel good.

Cacao before bed doesnā€™t seem sensible if you have any trouble sleeping. Theobromine is a stimulant, but I guess that is what you were referring to.

I also take MB before bed when Iā€™m feeling overtrained. I think it helps me stay asleep sleep and recover faster.

Just on principle, I wouldnā€™t take anything that RFK is swigging.

Curious if this is news to anyone else. But I just read that mitochondria make up 10% of your body mass!
Itā€™s not surprising when you think about (mitochondria are in every eukaryotic cell). But still came as a surprise.
Time to reread all john_hemmings post methinksā€¦

The thing to note about mitochondria is that they produce a lot more than ATP.

In particular citrate is used to convert to acetyl-CoA and this controls gene expression in a number of ways.

The amount of citrate leaving any one mitochondrion varies over time and will vary between mitochondria in any cell. However, cytosolic acetyl-CoA controls a number of cellular processes and particularly those relating to how to express genes.

Good for you, Tim. Iā€™m personally interested in this topic as an MB user and appreciate hearing the experiences and insights of others.

That said, Iā€™ll never understand why some feel compelled to inject off-topic, politically motivated comments into discussions that have nothing to do with politics. Fortunately, Rapamycin.news allows everyone the freedom to engage in threads that align with their interests while skipping those that donā€™t. Letā€™s keep the discussion relevant and on track.

Well, Iā€™m not sure what is meant by the instructions saying ā€œit charges the electronsā€, but if it means the sunlight helps in converting the methylene blue to leucomethylene blue it makes sense because it is a chemical reaction. However, I never did that when mixing one of my single morning doses because it was dark outside. I just mixed the 20 drops of methylene blue solution with maybe an ounce or two of water and 1/16 or so teaspoon of powdered vitamin C. I stirred it and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes while I shaved. When I took it out of the fridge the process was complete: clear water with a hint of blue color.

Hahaha I agree - well, Iā€™m not sure what is meant by the instructions saying ā€œit charges the electronsā€.

I just do it - magic!

A lot like rapamycin - it seems magical.

Funny. The more painful or expensive the intervention, the stronger the placebo effect (Iā€™ve heard).

For those who really wanna learn Mitochondria, I recommend Nick Laneā€™s Mitchondria: Sex, Power and Suicide.
This book is deep! It makes a case its not the nucleus but the mitochondria that runs the entire cellular show!
