Do you mean 100 mg of Cana?

Actually it’s not Cana at all. It is empagliflozin 10 mg. I came out of the conversation mistakenly thinking Jardiance was Cana, but it’s empa. My bad!

The dosage is low because I’m not diabetic or even pre-diabetic, very good a1c and HOMA IR.

The dose-response between 10 mg empagliflozin and 25 mg isn’t that different, and you can use a pill cutter on the 25 mg.

Do I want to do that because the 25mg is a lot cheaper?

On Amazon Pharmacy and offshore it is the same price for both doses so you save 50%. I didn’t know a generic version isn’t for sale in the USA.

I agree @Joseph_Lavelle

I think it’s a terrible idea to use an aromatase inhibitor to block estrogen conversion on TRT. Any clinic who tries to get men to do this should be avoided in my opinion.

The normal estradiol range in men was created for men who aren’t on TRT. AI’s have more side effects than slightly high estrogen on TRT. The fact these two forms of estradiol tested in the ITP improve lifespan only make me feel more strongly about this.

According to some studies, estriol has been found to potentially be safer than 17-α Estradiol.

“The bioidentical hormone debate: are bioidentical hormones (estradiol, estriol, and progesterone) safer or more efficacious than commonly used synthetic versions in hormone replacement therapy?”

"Estriol’s effect on cardiac risk factors has also been somewhat equivocal; however, unlike conventional estrogen prescriptions, it does not seem to contribute to hypertension.

This source likely refers to 17β-estradiol, generally known as estradiol and used in female HRT. It has 100% binding affinity with the primary estrogen receptor, hense its powerfull and feminizing effects. In rat models, 17a-estradiol has only a 4.8% binding affinity and estriol has 10%.

Has anyone considered trying an estriol cream like this one? Amazon

I found this article saying that estrogen has a 24-hour absorption of 10.6%. Additionally, I found some info on different skin sites and their absorption rates (relative to forearm of 1.0):

Hydrocortisone Solution Absorption Rates:

  • Scrotum: 42.0
  • Jaw Angle: 13.0
  • Forehead: 6.0
  • Underarm: 3.6
  • Scalp: 3.5
  • Back: 1.7
  • Palm of the Hand: 0.8
  • Ankle: 0.4
  • Sole of the Foot: 0.1

This could be a simpler alternative for those looking for a more immediate solution.

According to Pomegranate Seed Oil - an ally to mature, dry, and allergy-prone skin – Justglow.co.uk The website provides information that the content of 17 alpha estradiol in pomegranate seed oil is 3000 milligrams per kilogram. Roughly estimated, 1 liter is equivalent to 1 kilogram, so one milliliter is about 3 milligrams. Of course, considering that the content of pomegranate acid in food grade pomegranate seed oil ranges from 75% to 85%, I think it is advisable to supplement pomegranate seed oil by about 0.5 milliliters to 1 milliliter every day.

Interesting. Does anyone have experience with pomegranate seed oil? If so, what happened and do you have a source recommendation or buying tips?

I actually referenced that link before and had a disagreement with another user about the interpretation of 3.000 mg/kg. Are you sure it means 3000 mg/kg instead of 3 mg/kg?

we have another source

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1279770723001197#:~:text=Determination%20of%20estradiol%20E2%20content,of%20E2%2F100%20ml%20extract.

Determination of estradiol E2 content of SOE: E2 content was determined by electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay “ECLIA” using kits (25). The results showed that SOE contains 410 μg of E2/100 ml extract.

So a litre which is probably over a kilogram but not much, would have 4.1mg. which means less than 4.1mg per kilo.

Hence the website with 3.000 probably means 3 (and should probably not print the result so precisely).

Edit later: Actually it looks like pomegranate seed oil is slightly less dense than water. It remains, however, that the quantity per kilo is probably under 10mg.

If you take finasteride, it can lead to a modest increase in estradiol levels. Less testosterone is being converted to DHT, leading to a relative increase in testosterone levels which can then be aromatized to estradiol.

I’m bummed about AKG as well. It seems whenever I buy a year’s supply of something, it’s doomed to be useless. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh Lord! That made me laugh as I can relate to it!

We really need to know the Dosing of AKG. AKG comes out of the mitochondria with the production of ATP and it is used as a substrate for the demethylation of DNA. It may be that the demethylation of DNA in isolation has no effect on lifespan, but I would think taking AKG will have some effects beyond simply demethylating DNA. I personally think it has effects on my resting heart rate when drinking alcohol. (as in the RHR is lower with AKG and drinking alcohol than without AKG and drinking alcohol).

My RHR is lower when not drinking.

Alcohol is a direct cardiotoxin.
Just sayin’….

Gordon Lithgow from the Buck was recently interviewed by the Longevity By Design team and said he ‘couldn’t remember’ the ITP results for AKG but he remains pretty confident it has benefits. Seems better in worms than mice.
Ive been taking it in my stack for a couple of years but am tempted to drop it after the ITP findings

Right. It couldn’t have been very impressive if he couldn’t remember. Not memorable in any case. I took a bottle of it before quitting. According to Kaeberlein CaAKG is a good source of calcium. I get enough calcium elsewhere.

Is it the ethanol or the acetaldehyde (or both).
