what do you get out of Nicotinamide Riboside, subjectively?

I tried to eat a lot of them, it is hard, so bulky and dry. Maybe in a smoothie?

We need to know what these 3 are taking: Strong, Harrison, and Miller

Subjectively? Have not had any blood work done in six months, and I do not keep a diary, but I feel excellent. Should be going to the doctors in January/February and would have some facts, but subjectively there isn’t much to report, none of my supplements hits me like a Starbucks Venti Iced Latte, with an extra shot.

Six months ago, my doctors wanted to take me off of atorvaststin because my numbers looked so good. I begged them not to do it because I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, am trying to lose weight and need the incentive. I lost 30lbs in 2022, but 2023 has been a total loss.

Everything that I take, you can google what the supplement allegedly does or may do. I have some faith so I am sticking with my program of taking supplements and looking for longevity treatments that I can afford.

I had a prescription to start rapa in early 2023 but decided to visit this site and read up. I’ll start it in 2024. FULL SPEED AHEAD!

@desertshores, another Russian formulation popular right now is noopept, which is said to be a cognitive enhancer while phenibut is preferred for stress and anxiety. There has to be some overlap, though, because mood often follows mind. “Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Noopept is inexpensive and easy to find. I bought some on Amazon and tried it a few times but didn’t get anything out of it.

Noopept is currently the only nootropic I take.
It is a very interesting substance that claims to have many benefits, focus, memory, brain protector, etc.

The first time I took noopept it produced a rather profound effect. I especially found it to be effective for focus, and oddly colors appeared much more saturated and brighter. The visual side effect only happened the first few times I took it. The body adapts very quickly to noopept.

Noopept has a half-life of less than 1 hour and its recommended dose is 10 to 30mg daily.
So, it is good for a short-term boost in focus when you are taking a test or something.

I take it now and then when I need a short-term memory boost and focus enhancer, like when I am filling out tax forms.

I take a 30 mg dose right before the task. I have felt zero negative side effects.

Condiment, used as a supplement.

The double-blind, randomized study involved 72 healthy subjects, aged 60 to 80. Half of them took 100 milligrams of wasabi extract at bedtime, with the rest receiving a placebo.

After three months, the treated group registered “significant” boosts in two aspects of cognition, working (short-term) memory, and the longer-lasting episodic memory, based on standardized assessments for language skills, concentration and ability to carry out simple tasks. No improvement was seen in other areas of cognition, such as inhibitory control (the ability to stay focused), executive function or processing speed.

Full study below.

Dr. Miler won’t say what he takes publicly. I am assuming that Strong and Harrison might not either although I’ve never asked them.

In case you missed it there is a relatively new AI site to ask medical questions.

It is a paid subscription AI service. https://droracle.ai/

I have activated a trial subscription. Free for seven days then $10/month.

This is the result of the first question I asked.

IMO it is best to confirm what a GPT is saying is actually true.

This wasn’t Chat GPT. It was Dr, Oracle AI (https://droracle.ai/) which is a fairly new service.
It does furnish references papers/studies, etc. So far every reference I have checked is real not some made-up junk that Chat GPT often does.

too bad it is NOT free.

I used GPT-4 for a few months when it opened up to ask it a number of things. Instead of asking an open ended question, instead ask it to provide 10 research papers that back up what it is stating.

It always provides the documents and you can copy and paste the info into another document for you to complete your research.

Regarding my response to you above. A few things that you should know.

I had a mild heart attack in 2017 followed by open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and a 3-way bypass. Around 2020 I went from pre-diabetic to a diabetic. It could have been my statin (atorvastatin) that pushed me over the edge. In 2022, I lost 30lbs and I am trying without results to lose more weight right now.

I have been taking quite a few supplements for over a year now and feel excellent! Is it the supplements? Maybe. Maybe it is all placebo too, but I doubt it. I am positive, upbeat, feel energetic, and am wide awake for most of the day.

I think the supplements that I take are worth it.

Real wasabi is not the green paste that is served with most sushi /sashimi

Review

One of several companies that produces real wasabi.

I have no financial interest in the above company.

I know the difference between real wasabi and “imitation wasabi”

No disagreement here. I poked around that website a year ago, to use real wasabi to activate sulforaphanes in broccoli sprouts. The price is high.

Might be better to buy wasabi imported from Japan. Amazon carries some.

There are other websites for locally grown wasabi.

A new YouTube discussion between Peter Attia & Rich Miller.

Meclizine and astaxanthin are probably life extenders.
Fisetin is not and probably doesn’t even remove senescent cells.

After approximately one month of Enclomiphene/clomiphene I bought from India the preliminary results are in. I am pretty happy that my total T is now in the low normal range after taking 50mg every other day. This seems to be a good dose rate for me. I will check again in another 30 days or so and then decide on the dose going forward.

Pre Enclomiphene/clomiphene total T = 128 ng/dL

After ~30 days total T = 295

So the Enclomiphene/clomiphene from India more than doubled my total T.

I am not sure why the lab is taking so long with my free T results.

In any case, I am happy with the results so far. Zero side effects subjectively.

Thanks for posting and great that it’s working for you. Once you reach the desired level I would assume you may want to do it weekly to see how it goes (just a thought). Ive heard there is such a think as too high of testosterone.

There are some interesting issues around T and SHBG that imply that higher T, but also higher SHBG is potentially pro health.
