You don’t need to give up tea - leaves from the Rooibos plant are naturally caffeine free. The tea tastes like any other tea.

@RPS thanks for the tip. I’ve been enjoying the herbal teas provided by prolon but I’ll run out soon. Hibiscus is my favorite. Amazing flavor.

Ditto on their hibiscus!

Also, @RPS, I have discovered a new weird caffeine tea that I love… it’s buckwheat (sobacha). I’ve only had one brand so far, but when my FMD is over, I have another one here to try.

Because buckwheat is food, I am afraid to have that during Prolon incase it has a negative impact.

Just here to share…

I’m on day 5 of Prolon, and my Oura ring sent me a warning this morning.

It’s the first time I’ve seen this. It’s no surprise, but it’s interesting to see that oura is detecting what is going on in my body.

I was cold when I went to sleep last night, enough so that I lowered my cooling mattress. Each night of my FMD, I only slept 6 hours or less, even though it was good sleep, but last night I slept 8:38.

Hopefully you aren’t getting sick. I had to abort a Prolon fast one time because I got the flu starting on day 3.

@Beth …you’re almost thru it! I get these sorts of Oura messages all the time. I’m going to cancel my Oura subscription again as it provides no value and constant aggravation. (As I remember why I cancelled it the first time).

I think it’s normal to have a lower HR and sleep less (need less sleep) while on a FMD. As to why you had a temperature spike and slept long…could be a bug coming on but who knows.

I take some zinc, vitamin c and NAC if I get an inkling of a possible bug. And I take some methylene blue. Does it work? I don’t ever get sick but I can’t say why.

Good luck.

Thanks for the ‘getting sick’ protocol! I’ll do that tomorrow, just incase!

It was interesting that this round felt different than in the past… for example, day 3, which is normally my hardest, was my easiest.

I’m fortunate in that I was grandfathered into the oura membership and I don’t have to pay!

@Davin8r It never occurred to me that I might be getting sick! It’s been so many years… *knocks on wood!

Argh on having 2+ days in and you had to stop. That is painful! It’s smart, as you know!
