When you realize the U.S government is just the people.
The CIA did remote viewing experiments after all, and there are probably a lot of Reiki masters and Tarot card readers in Washington D.C. So as a result, NCCIH exists, and now people can stop complaining about bias from the U.S government with regards to pharma, when actually this is funding alternative health at $100 m/year.
NCCIH has been criticized by Steven E. Nissen, Stephen Barrett, and Kimball Atwood among others, for funding, along with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute[34] a study of EDTA chelation therapy for coronary artery disease, which lasted about 10 years and cost about $31 million, even though smaller, controlled trials found chelation ineffective.[35][36][37] Other NCCIH-funded studies have included the benefits of distant prayer for AIDS, the effects of lemon and lavender essential oils on wound healing,[5][38] âenergy chelationâ, and ârats stressed out by white noiseâ.[39]
Hey, donât talk bad about my rats stressed out by white noise study!
The health topics page is useful for supplements/alternative health/and all that:

$100m a year is a lot of money but on the off-chance that magic really does exist, this could really pay off.
