Does galantamine improve sleep quality or just dreams?

Subjectively (since I have no fancy equipment telling me sleep quality. My wife does but I have little faith in these devices) it makes my days better. I’m not happy about being able to remember my dreams and find them disappointingly stupid. Maybe I should read up on dream interpretation.

As far as sleep goes, for me, it doesn’t improve sleep. If I take it at bedtime, it’s for entertainment purposes only—vivid and more colorful dreams.

Currently I am taking it twice a day, morning and evening. It’s hard to measure if it is actually doing something for my brain. I probably won’t reorder after my supply runs out.

I like to remember my dreams as well as interpreting them. I have the most fascinating life in my dreams.

I purchased 500gm Melatonin powder today (Bulk Supplements). When it arrives, I am planning to take 1gm (possibly more) per day. Currently using 10mg pills, I am taking ~100mg per day. Like you - I am aiming for protection of mitochondrial DNA….

Best to discuss timing. I like to take it during the night and I think it is important to fit it in with the daily cycle in some way.

There needs to be the correct interplay with autophagy as well. (hence timing does matter)

If you take a second dose when you wake in the night, it has psychedelic properties.
I will be interested to hear about your experiences. Many people take it to implement lucid dreaming, something I am not really into.
BTW: If you want to take it for its effects on memory, etc., just take it in the morning and not after 6 PM. Then it will have little or no effect on dreams.

I have a weird theory that it can improve sleep even though you said it doesn’t.
I’ll try to remember to take some if I wake up at night but even if I don’t I’ll take it before I go to bed with my nighttime supplements.

I do like lucid dreaming so I’ll give this a go at some point.
