We have a place on the far east side of Phoenix metro (Gold Canyon) and some acreage in the mountains near McCall, Idaho (one range to the west from Sun Valley). Skiing as good or better than Sun Valley, plus boating, backcountry piloting, etc. but Sun Valley gets all the movie stars.
Harriman, Union Pacific’s magnate, built SV in the 30’s and then invited all his movie star friends (Gable, Cooper, Bergman, Flynn, Ball) to visit in luxury riding his VIP railroad cars. It made the place. Hemmingway maintained his cabin just south of there.

Not everyone is obsessed as much as we are with one particular aspect of life, health and longevity. He has other interests. That may be a indication of overall health. At the same time I understand where you’re coming from.

I don’t know about that @Charles_Richardson. If you listen to the podcast detail he presents and the gentle teases of his podcast host, it seems that Attia is not only obsessed with health and longevity but with metrics (an obsession I can identify with
). He works out for hours daily, wears two or three measurement devices and pinpricks his ear to measure lactic acid to ensure he did not exceed Zone II during specific workouts. He measures HRV with a chest strap and specialized software every morning before arising and uses that information to customize the day’s workout schedule. He keeps a detailed log of every metric (sleep, workout type and parameters, weight, HR, HRV, etc.) for every day going back years. Being a physician, it is somewhat easier to order blood and urine analyses, which he does more-or-less continuously.

This would be a life NOT worth living for most humans on earth. Everyone likes to have a long and healthy life but if it consumes 24 hours of your day, nah not for me thank you. 1/2 hour to 1 hour per day (including the exercise) spent on my health is plenty, but at times I even have difficulty dedicating one hour per day.

It is more time than I am willing or able to put in but I get the impression that he one of the fortunate in that he earns a living exploring his personal passion. A nice blend. On the business side, he charges $150,000 a year to be a patient so his passion informs his work and vice versa.
