Well⌠itâs one thing to ship it out of India⌠for me the interesting part is what happens when it gets to the USA. Please report results, positive or negative.

The department of posts said that, as per the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) guidelines, customs duty on postal shipments from India to the US is applicable at a flat rate of 50 per cent of the declared consignment value under the new tariff rule.

The question is regardless of the tariff, will these packages get stopped and confiscated because there is no prescription and doctorâs note?

Exactly! I donât care about the higher cost. I care about the meds not getting confiscated. And that remains to be seen.

What has been your experience with testosterone undecanoate capsules and semaglutide tablets?

Itâs very strict for âhobbyâ drugs, I would never risk importing any of those. But steroids are actually legal here, people import all types of them regularly.

This is my first time acquiring them. Iâll try to share my experience once Iâve used them for awhile.

Hey @none, welcome! What did you order? Did it require a prescription? How much of whatever did you order? Etc, etc.

Yes, so far my order is making itâs way through the system too. I placed the order through Shree Signify Exim and it shipped on Oct 10. The recent update shows that it is inbound to New York Customs. I thought this might be a bottle neck with the shut down, but it looks like from previous posts that orders are moving through customs in Queens.
It was a small order. I hate to imagine what the costs will be for a larger Rapamycin order now with extra fees. Iâm with DeStrider on the idea of an India visit. My brother is visiting India at the moment and I almost asked him to be a drug mule for me.

Ha my brother is in India right now, too⌠he would rather buy generics at cvs, even if they were made in India
Finally the mainstream press is starting to understand the impact:
Many seniors get cheaper medicine from Canada. That might become harder.
Shifting U.S. trade policy has created uncertainty and led to higher prices for Americans who fill their prescriptions abroad.
Linda Klonsky usually orders her prescription eye drops from a Canadian pharmacy that charges $250 for a three-month supply.
But that came to an abrupt halt late this summer when it came time for her to reorder, as the Trump administrationâs latest trade edict prompted dozens of international postal services to suspend shipments to the United States. With little choice, the 75-year-old turned to a CVS near her home in Silver Spring, Maryland, and bought 30 daysâ worth of similar drops for $740 â nearly nine times what she usually pays.
âIâm being squeezed between the American drug company and Trumpâs tariffs,â she said.
The cost of prescription drugs has long been a significant pain point for U.S. consumers: Americans pay an estimated three times more for prescription medicines than the residents of other high-income countries, and polling shows 3 in 10 struggle to afford their medications. Thatâs prompted thousands of seniors and underinsured Americans to look for lower-cost alternatives in Canada, Mexico and across the Atlantic.
But the Trump administrationâs ever-fluid trade policies and decision to end a tariff exemption for low-value goods has upended that work-around. Prices on prescription imports have increased, shipments have stalled and there is mounting concern among some patient advocates that the U.S. could throttle access to online pharmacies for the more than 2 million Americans estimated to buy drugs abroad.

This is just sad. The elderly are paying the price for Trumpâs whimsy. Make America Great Again for whom?

Update time. Despite paying the $90 customs fee on October 8, my package hasnât moved. I contacted DHL and hereâs what they said: âThis shipment is now being held by The FDA pending further investigation. The holding process can take 7-10 business days to complete, but also may take approximately 30-90 days.â
So Iâm back to thinking Iâm unlikely to see the package. Should I be worried about some kind of legal action for importing?
