Only if you’re a Democrat. But seriously, the only repercussion I’ve ever heard of is being denied for the Global Entry pass (which helps you to skip waiting lines at the airport when returning to the USA). I don’t think they really care from a law enforcement perspective if you’re trying to import non-controlled substances like a blood pressure medication or rapamycin for personal use. Trying to import things like anabolic steroids or illicit drugs would likely be a different story.

I would not be concerned, assuming it’s an order of relatively benign drugs and a reasonable quantity. Your intent I’m sure is to save money just like me because US prices are just too high. Besides, Customs has serious problems stopping the flow of narcotics and other illicit drugs. Why would they be overly concerned about an order of empagliflozin, etc.?
Yes, they certainly can randomly check packages and confiscate them. But, that’s the chance you take when ordering from India.

Funny, my Global Entry lapsed recently. Think I’m gonna hurry and process that renewal!

Might I add that it would be kind of bullshit for them to seize the package AFTER they collected the duty.

Update on my order from my IndiaMart guy on Sept 22nd. I received the package on October 20th. No tariffs or any extra fees (I’m in the US). I’m told that they will be going back with India Post rather than going through Dubai and future shipments should be under 14 days. That seems a bit optimistic based on previous orders.

A plug for Jagdish. He is going to reship (via India Post) my order at a 50% discount, which I suspect is below his costs. Given that this wasn’t a problem of his making, it was very generous of him. I’ve probably placed a half dozen pretty large orders with him previously fwiw.

I was able to buy some meds while I was in Mexico, and had no issues with customs. Unfortunately, by the time I left, ALL of the pharmacies in the area had run out of rapamycin. I was told that it was a supplier issue, and they had no idea when it would be resolved.

Good for you! I live in San Diego County and I’m considering trying pharmacies in Tijuana. Is this the area that’s sold out of rapa? Any tips or tricks as I contemplate walking over the border at some point in November?

Well, miracles do happen. Today my package just showed up!
One question for folks though. The jardiance was manufactured two years ago and has an expiry of next year. Assume it will be just fine/effective well past that?

Was this the reship that showed up, or the original package?
Its probably best to keep things in the fridge, however. Also Rapamycin solutions in DMSO are less stable.

The original package. I’m shocked.

Looks like AllDayChemist is shipping again, Singapore I beleive, but I think they do some kind of drop shipping from different countries. I put in a order a couple of weeks ago (despite their warning on shipping) and they replied that they expected to resume shipping soon and would notify me when it was shipped, well just now got an email, and hopefully a package in about 3 weeks.

I’m hearing that the intercept rate seems to be much higher than in the past. But its still early.

Second package on the way, no problem.

One of my regular suppliers gives me reassurances that he is shipping to the USA with no problems. So, I put in a modest order to test the system.
I am pretty sure that many of our small business suppliers from India are getting a little desperate at this point.
If the package fails to arrive, I will consider it a charitable donation to someone who has served me well in the past.
I will post the results as they become available.

@desertshores: what did you order, if I may be so bold as to ask.

I’m in the process of placing a small order of rapa, dapagliflozin, dutasteride, rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe and will report back.
