What dosing are you using, and do you experience any unpleasant side effects?
I am considering using Retatrutide or Tz to eliminate some remaining belly fat.
My current BMI is ~22, but there is this little bit of a jelly roll on my lower abdomen.
Do you think I am taking the wrong approach? Do I need something to turn white fat into brown fat?

Curious where people are getting these. Typically you have to be officially obese (at least to start) to get a prescription.

There are probably 100 “research peptide” sources from which you can obtain peptides such as Retatrutide for use as “research, not for human consumption.” They are typically supplied as a 99+% pure dry powder that has to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. Then, you inject yourself with the recommended dosage.
In practice, this is quite trivial. You can get your insulin syringes and bacteriostatic water from Amazon or from the peptide supplier.
I am not promoting or recommending any peptide supplier, but here are a few examples to get you started. Do your own research on peptide suppliers to find one you feel comfortable with.

All GLP1-R’s help white fat to transition to brown but Reta seems to have greater effect, plus a bit more stimulation of thermogenisis. This may be why it is the top weight management GLP1-R in the trials.

I’m maintaining easily at 140lb with 2mg Rt.

I have no side effects with this dose of Rt, actually feel more “normal” with Rt than I did with Tz. Not that Tz was an issue, it does turn down the food noise better but the dose I was taking 3.5mg got me down to 155 in 9 months, to get lower I would have need to up the dose and I might have. But I was happy at that weight. Switching to 2.5mg Rt dropped another 15lbs in 3 months, I was not expecting that. Then went down to 2.0mg and am maintaining easily at 140.

The other factor is that I’ve been doing this since July 2023, so my body has fully adapted and it’s my new normal. I’ll be doing this until the end  too many other benefits for us oldsters

Tirzepatide is approved for diabetes. You don’t need to be overweight or obese. And doctors can always prescribe off-label. And you can get it from abroad without a prescription. So there are many many options.

FYI some people report HRV and HR coming back to baseline after 2 months on semaglutide:https://www.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/1cg4hyh/comment/laju6jq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Would be great to have more data on that…

I don’t know how you’d get tirzepatide from abroad since it has to be refrigerated, unless it’s the powdered research peptide version.

You can go abroad  For deliveries from abroad, I think the issue is not refrigeration (tirzepatide can be kept 21 days out of the refrigerator before being opened and has to be kept OUTSIDE the fridge once open) but the opposite: it can get too cold, and they can freeze.

Ok but if you order from abroad and it comes unrefrigerated and only has 3 week shelf life at time of beginning of shipment, that would mean you’d have to use the entire supply immediately, which would NOT go well :grimacing:

Would it be okay if you put it back in your fridge? Or if you buy the vials with tirzepatide instead of pens? Or pay for refrigerated shipping (e.g. from FedEx)? I have no idea.

Our supplier does long term storage testing and this is what they have tested and recommend. Their standard for the 36 month test is >97% active ingredient and that is starting at >98% on day one.

In lyophilized powder form most peptides remain stable at;
room temp, no light exposure - up to 3 months.
fridge temps (4 to 6C) - up to 6 months.
freezer temps (-4 to -8C) - up to 12 months - typical consumer freezer
freezer temps (-21C) - up to 36 months - specialized commercial freezer

There are some potential freeze/thaw issues but that would be if you constantly freeze and thaw. Freezing and thawing a few times is not going to harm the peptide, many times, yes there will be degradation. Which is why aliquoting is the standard of managing long term bulk storage. (always wanted to use that one in a sentence  )

Once reconstituted an unopened vial is stable for;
2 months at room temp
3 months refrigerated < that is the standard method of keeping reconstituted peptides
never freeze reconstituted peptides
Once opened, as in poked with a needle, 60 days max in the refrigerator, 45 days at room temp

We have a -21C freezer for potential long term storage, a refrigerator for WIP (work in progress) and I keep all my personal peps that are reconstituted at home in my fridge.

If you’d like to be official you can use Merark Health. They offer TZ and SG for more than just weight loss/T2D. Being official they don’t offer RT. With that said it’s much much more expensive but they make the whole process easy. No need to reconstitute and figure out units. For example Merak TZ 40mg costs $1400 vs from the gray sites you can get the same amount for less than $300 if you look at bit.

Hey Steve, did they actually do a 3+ year test and see some degradation after 3 years, or is this theoretical and is it possible a lyophilized peptide could last even longer at these low temps?

That’s very expensive. You get into any pharmacy in Europe and you get Mounjaro 15 mg for about 250 USD (so 700 USD for 40 mg). Get a cheap plane ticket to Paris and buy a bunch of Mounjaro: You’ll save money and have a nice weekend

They actually do the test.

Its a very interesting company.

Or come to Canada and get for half that cost

I started Reta and took 0.5mg on Tuesday, Thursday, and now today (Saturday). I think I will start taking this daily instead of every other day. I know it’s early but right now, I can’t tell that I am taking anything.

Grey market Triz is now down to $.50 per mg when on sale. Tirzepatide help telegram server is a good location to learn about vendors. Telegram

Are you using any smart wearables/health trackers? If so, has your resting heart rate increased and/or your heart rate variability decreased?

I don’t do any wearables or trackers becsuse then I become compulsive about it and they add unwanted stress. I do check my blood pressure and heart rate quite a bit and my heart rate might be a tad higher but hard to tell so far. I’ll keep checking
