Yes! It is a tough question. I’m reading everyone’s list thinking. “Yep I take most of those too. I just didn’t put them on my top ten list.” I take 30+ supplements. I’m glad I don’t have to limit myself to 10 in the real world. Although I would like to start cycling some of my supplements. Especially the ones that have similar effects.

I take a ton of supplements, but I have my doubts on their effect, that include Curcumin, Omega 3, Vitamin D, Astaxanthin etc.(I start to believe that most supplements are overhyped, the corect Amino acids seems like the best and safest bet for longevity for me at the moment) I don’t list Rapamycin, Acarbose, Tadalfil or Metformin that I take as that is Medicine.

I lost 75lbs last year. Part of my motivation was that my BP was getting to the point I needed to start antihypertensives. I was hoping to avoid that with lifestyle changes. Along with diet and exercise, aged garlic (Kyolic 2 with breakfast and 2 with dinner) is one of my supplements I take to try to improve BP. I’ve succeeded at reducing my BP from an average of around 160/80 to around 115/65. I’m sure exercise and weight loss is the biggest part of that but I’m certain aged garlic got me there quicker as I take and record my BP at home on a fairly regular basis.

As an additional benefit I discovered is that it is an amazing mosquito repellent. I love being outside on summer evenings. Ordinarily I can be the only person in a group of people smacking the mosquitos while most everyone else is fine. They love me. I noticed this last summer the opposite. People complaining while they left me alone. I rarely got bothered by them. My wife has a sensitive nose. She would definitely let me know if I had an odor. I’ve also straight asked her. She can’t smell anything but apparently the mosquitoes can. I might try cycling off this winter to see if I still need it for my BP but I think I will always cycle on in warmer seasons just for this benefit.

Hi Ive been mostly with renuebyscience.com for the past 5 years. Turmeric from healthspan.co.uk
Magnesium from altrient

Finally, someone mention THE ONE and most important amino acid Carnosine. Perhaps even the MOST important antiaging agent out there also, save maybe RAPA.

RAPA
Metformin/Accarbose
CARNOSINE
CIALIS-VERY SMALL DOSE 2-4
B-COMPLEX-3-4 TIMES A WEEK
TAURINE
VIT C -2000-3000MG’S
L-LYSINE- 2000MG’S
GLYCINE
CITRULINE

AND another 40-50 others occasionally, and still experimenting.

What your dose of carnosine do you take? I ordered some carnosine eye drops, but hadn’t considered oral.

I’m only taking 1000mg’s daily in the morning (no reason other than convenient). Huge help to aging muscles. I can literally say it is the ONLY substance that I can feel the benefit right away. Way less muscle soreness, and no spasms which used to get very often. Don’t know if it does anything for eyes, but I can confirm that it has a HUGE impact in muscle health. The only supplement that got rid of my muscle spasms which at times were excruciating. beta alanine seems to help also, but my understanding is that it gets converted into carnosine anyway. Again, for people that have no muscle issues at all they may not feel any benefit per se, but my theory is if it good for those that have muscle issues then it is good for muscles period, and we all know how important it is to maintain the muscle mass and health as we age. Plus that greg fahy dude kept mentioning carnosine, carnosine, carnosine in every video.

Glycine and GlyNac are very popular. Is there any reason not to get the glycine from Collagen powder so that you get the benefit of both?

Very interested to hear if there’s a flaw in this strategy because that’s what i do, i steal my wife’s hydrolyzed collagen and then take it with nac. As a result, i should be both younger and more beautiful.
But dosing may be an issue…

Commonly recommended dose of 10-20 grams (1or 2 scoops) of Collagen Powder should give you a healthy dose of glycine ( it’s maybe 50% glycine).

Further reading says less than 50%. Here it says 33%.

never mind, just a joke.

Here it says 10 grams of hydrolized Collagen would provide 2.5 grams of glycine. And collagen certainly seems to have benefits.

I took collagen for about three months and could literally feel nothing, no effects whatsoever. Obviously, that doesn’t mean it is not good for you in long run, but I am of the belief that aminos should be taken in different times and not together to get the most benefit. For some reason I feel very significant benefits if i take certain aminos by themselves, as opposed being taken together via collagen and protein as an example. i.e. carnosine immediate relief of muscle pain, tyrosine - mood elevation within hour or so, Arginine- huge dilation and sexual effect (like firmer bigger erection, though can’t take it because it activates cold sores virus), L-lysine kills cold sores in couple days etc…None of these benefits from taking collagen, so take it for what it is worth but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.LOL

I have spent a lot of money over the years on collagen with no noticeable effects measurable or subjective. IMO: Collagen supplements are highly overrated. If there are no measurable or subjective benefits, it’s off my list of supplements.

Actually, i took it for three months and it absolutely ZERO effect so I stopped even though I still had about 1/3 left. I might still finish it off for the heck of it, but you can rest assured that I will NEVER buy it again (can’t to pay such a high price for it and feel nothing). As I said earlier, with some individual aminos, I’ve had huge success in addressing some of the ageing issues, but not from protein shakes and/or collagen (that are loaded with aminos).

Do you take glycine? It seems that glycine (and GlyNac) have a lot of support.

Here are some of the most famous people in this space and what they take:

I know…Joe Rogan?
What do they all take? Vitamin D3/K2 and Omega 3/fish oil.
Usually also a multivitamin and often magnesium.
Because, I’m trying to build/maintain muscle (I’m 70) I always take creatine and collagen which also increases protein intake as well as glycine (and I take NAC Ethyl Ester form to boost glutathione production).
After reading alot here, I stopped taking the RBS Lipo NMN and Resveratrol but can’t help but feel that I lost a certain energy spark. I’ll have to go back and forth a couple of times. Had a complete blood work up and will start Rapamycin soon.
