Oura’s Cardiovascular Age is very useful to see see trends for the endothelial health but it’s not very sensitive.
For instance here is how Oura have detected my Covid in February. The Covid was rather mild as I took paxlovid but Oura shows the endothelial health getting worse before coming back to baseline.
Nice but not very fast and sensitive.
Then in June my Cardio Age started to increase and and it was even worse than Covid which obviously made me freak out.
That said like for Covid, it’s not very fast and sensitive so I downloaded the raw data from the Oura’s web site and here it is:
Quite noisy!
I applied as Savitzky Golay filter and here is the incredible result:
I’ve put vertical lines for starting/stopping medications and supplements.
Here it is again zoomed on 2025
There is an unknown peak in December 2024. Maybe I got some low grade virus as I felt a little bit sick but nothing notable.
Then there is the COVID peak and that one is quite impressive The line at Feb 3 2025 is when I felt the first symptoms (sore throat) and I tested possible the day after that and got on Paxlovid the 5th.
It’s remarkable that the Cardio Age has detected it more than 1 week before!
Then we can see that staring Grapeseed extract 300mg was a very bad idea and that it stopped increasing when I stopped taking it.
After that I tried MitoQ 20 mg instead of Grapeseed extract and that ended badly as well but this time I stopped after 1 week and the Cardio Age went down again.
At that point I started Pioglitazone 7.5mg which shows a quite dramatic improvement. After 3 days I’m already at the best Cardio Age ever. Hopefully it will continue or stabilize and not creep up again.
We’ll see in a few weeks.
Anyway that’s pretty useful.

I did not know oura tracked pulse wave velocity, very cool! My scale tracks it too, but technically is it allowed by tye FDA, so it displays it as “cardiovascular age”
It’s one of those Withings scales

How did you do this? It’s not part of the download options for trend data.
