Yes, this tracks with my understanding of inherent aging process being the result of design. Mice have crappy design, naked mole-rats a better design and so on. To really make headway against stochastic mutations, you need a corrective mechanism. Perhaps multiple copies of information and a mechanism to compare. Women have XX chromosomes, which provides some redundancy compared to XY. Information loss and repository integrity. But look at bacteria that can keep strains going indefinitely - extrapolate that across all tissues.
