Gompertz is an exponential increase in mortality.

It’s quite an interesting finding that “Among all tissues examined, the aorta aged fastest and most dramatically.” I wonder why this would be the case as compared to other tissues.

The study suggests that aging isn’t so much linear and that it unfolds in phases… times when large-scale aging takes place. If this is correct, it again makes me wonder why this would be the case.

Is anyone doing anything to keep their cardiac tissue healthy in particular, outside of the usual items like maintaining a great lipid profile, great BP, good exercise conditioning, etc.

I think a lot of us in the forum take these two things in addition to statins, etc.

Ezetimibe (10 mg daily, add-on) Imaging trials show incremental slowing of carotid intima–media thickness (IMT) when added to statin

Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 180–360 µg/d Activates matrix-Gla-protein (MGP) → blocks vascular Ca deposition

I was actually looking for a different article/study I had read o/a 26 July and was sure i had bookmarked it to my Health info folder. It was a very recent study also. But couldn’t find it so started searching online for it and still couldn’t find it. It basically said that around the 45? age and then the 60 age are the biggest declines. I’m not positive on the earlier range but the 60 i am because I thought darn, I’m 6 yrs past that date; should have started rapa at least 6 yrs ago…If I find it I’ll post it also.

I added Ezetimibe 6 months ago with my Crestor, they sell a combo pill that has both for half the cost separately. Rosuvastatina/Ezetimiba Stadagen 10 mg/10 mg. My ApoB is 59, and LDL is 34. Been taking K2 for 3 yrs
