Try convincing a marijuana user that there is anything bad about it. Frustrating.

I use Reddit a lot (itā€™s how I found out about Rapamycin and this forum, actually).

One of the things that sucks about Reddit, though, is that itā€™s infested with potheads. Post about any kind of ailment ā€“ physical, mental, whatever ā€“ and you always get a ton of Redditors saying ā€œdude you should smoke weed or take some edibles, itā€™s the best treatment.ā€

Sort of an echo-chamber for them, I think. If you dare suggest that maybe marijuana isnā€™t a good thing for people, you get lambasted. The only viewpoint thatā€™s tolerated is that itā€™s ā€œmedicine.ā€

Crazy. An open mind is the only way forward, otherwise that thing you canā€™t find is where you donā€™t want to look.

As always they donā€™t differentiate between smoked and edibles

I donā€™t see the upside to either.

Take my advice, and stay off the devils lettuce. 'Coarse, then again, Willy Nelson is 91 and still performing at concerts.

I very much enjoy the upside to both

The posted study says that 0.38 % of marijuana users have symptoms of PAD, hardly a significant number. I love running stoned. It is one of those things that makes life worth living. And it helps me outrun the Reaper.

Thatā€™s sad. More to life than getting high.

Tim didnā€™t say he uses marijuana all the time.

I find it interesting to read peopleā€™s opinions on weed who probably themselves drink alcohol, maybe even smoke some cigarettes and in their household itā€™s ā€˜normalā€™ to take barbiturates for ā€˜sleepā€™, or ā€˜benzosā€™, nowadays.

Their cupboard might be filled with Xanax.

(PSA: Benzo withdrawal can be lethal, so if youā€™re one of those people, be careful).

ā€œOneā€ of those things implies that he has many things that make his life worth living other than weed.

I also use Marijuana daily. When I was 350lbs., exercising was painful. I started using a THC vape, thirty or forty minutes before exercise and I had greater stamina and was able to complete longer exercises at greater speeds.

It has itā€™s uses.

Running in itself is thrilling, but running stoned is more so. I donā€™t have any PAD. Iā€™d wager that Iā€™m healthier than most of your patients.

Aside from hitting a dab pen or an edible every now and then, I pretty much stopped using weed entirely the past couple years. Had a friend visit recently and we smoked quite a bit and I really started to like it again. Nothing like a blunt while listening to your favorite music or watching a comedy show. :joy:

Iā€™ve been taking buspirone for awhile now, on its own the effect is almost imperceptible, at least acutely. Even the chronic effect, which a reduction of anxiety, is very subtle if not placebo. But I wonder if buspirone has changed the effects of weed for me, that I am enjoying it like Iā€™m back in high school again. Or perhaps I just had so much fun smoking with my friend that I made strong positive associations with it again.

That said, I think smoking anything is not good. I mean the fact that Iā€™m coughing more and more suggests that itā€™s a fairly strong respiratory irritant for me with subchronic use.

Indeed. One should not be devoid of the other two: sex and rock and roll.

He never said there wasnā€™t. Not good to live in fear.

Pot is one of those polarizing things. People for and against just canā€™t seem to be objective about it, so it becomes ideological and bound up in a lot of emotions.

But pot is like any chemical. What the impact is depends on many factors. I donā€™t happen to use it, because I can find no benefit for me. I donā€™t need it for pain or psychotropic applications. I donā€™t suffer from anxiety - and I already have spectacular experiences with music, art and sensory stimulation without the mediation of any drugs, so I never felt the need to enhance anything nor tamp down on anything.

But if research comes along showing convincing evidence of health benefits without excessive side effects, I will not hesitate to take it. Itā€™s just another chemical to me, no ideology. So far I have not seen any such convincing evidence. Shrug.

Though I do think it should be legalized for adults on general personal freedoms grounds. What you put in your body should be your business and nobody elseā€™s while you also bear the full responsibility for those decisions. Keep freedom alive.
