  • Sirolimus cuts down the amount of HIV in cells for those on HIV meds.

  • This HIV reduction sticks around for at least 3 months after stopping the drug.

  • It slows down the activity of certain immune cells and reduces a marker of exhaustion on others.

  • Doesn’t change how the immune system targets HIV or the active virus levels.

There is a also study in China using rapamycin to reduce Hepatitis B viral load.
