I realize this wasn’t very helpful. It seems to completely dye the hair shaft. The roots are my normal color. But it seems to wash out and get more faded. It dyes the root and the hair shaft.

I received my GR7 from their Black Friday sale the other day and finally tried it out today.

  • It has a slight smell of ammonia and sulfur, which isn’t surprising since two of the ingredients are ammonia based and one is sulfur.
  • I did not feel that their flat squirt top was effective at getting the solution into the roots, so I transferred it to another squirt bottle with a pointier top.
  • The color is has a slight yellowish tint, possibly because of the Tween/Polysorbate 20. This may also be why they warn that the hair can take on a slight yellow tint in the initial phase
  • The solution separates a bit at the bottom of the bottle, hence their recommendation to shake before use

I noticed a kind of glitter effect in my hair today while driving. While my hair is almost completely back to its normal color now when I turned my head to look in the rear view mirror it looked as though I had flecks of glitter in my hair. Good luck. It definitely worked for me.

Tween/polysorbate is colourless, we used to use it for ball-milling compounds at work, the slight yellow colouration is probably due to the sulphur.

It may sound strange but I wonder if it’s glass?

The fact that G7 settles on standing suggests that there are insoluble components in the mix.

At work we used to grind up compounds using a tween/polysorbate solution and ball mill it in glass bottles with borosilicate glass beads ( that used to wear with use) and ball mill over the weekend.

Don’t worry  if it is glass, it will be perfectly safe (non-sharp).

How much product do you use at a time in milliliters?

I don’t measure it. I just pour a little onto my fingertips and rub it into my scalp. When I had my hair cut I noticed there was still some grey in it, but it seems to have reduced by about 70 percent.

Has anyone tried GlyNac (Glycine NAC 1200/1200mg) to reduce oxidative stress? There are several articles that this helps restore hair color

I did the full 12 weeks at the full dose, my health was great for awhile, then I got a bout of a-fib and was told it came from the NAC. I used lower rates for awhile, then had another attack and eventually quit the NAC. I still take as much glycine as I can, usually 10 gm, but have quit the NAC.

Did not notice any real difference in my hair (little gray on the sides).

Has the hair darkened from the root to the end or along the entire length? If straight away, then this is a tricky paint in all likelihood

I have been trying it for few days now. I must say I only use it on my temples where I have some (and most) gray hair. If the first thing is that the smell is not particularly enjoyable the second thing is that my natural color of the hair is blondish grayish and the gray hair is slightly more reddish yellowish now while the gray is fading. I will continue to use it to see if it will really match the rest of the hair. But seems it is more of a coloring the hair than restoring the hair color…

Take a look at whether the change in hair color is uniform throughout or if it starts from the roots. I’ve seen many discussions on Reddit about this product, with people saying it’s just a plant-based hair dye

and the color only changes where you apply it? Is there no reaction on the rest of the hair?

My understanding is that it stimulates the root and recolors the hair shaft. But it fades out with washing. It’s a dye, it’s just clear.

I guess it should be a plant-based hair dye that stimulates the roots and gradually adds color

But why does it end up exactly like your natural colour if it indeed a dye? I have been using it for 2 weeks now. No more grey hair left and I am dark blonde / light brown like my natural colour.

Do you really find the gray hair becoming the same color? Mine definitely are getting colored, and seems they will blend almost invisibly into my hair color, but I think (still using it for just a week or so) the result will be that my natural hair will take some color too and that’s why I will get an illusion of same color. Atm it seem like there is some transparent color filter on my grays…

The easiest place for me to judge would be my sideburns where I had a relatively higher level of grey hairs. These have now mostly (but not entirely) blended in to the extent that I cant differentiate them anymore with hairs that had not turned grey. In short, I believe that it returns the natural hair colour after extended use.

holy molly looks great, very natural. I have ordered some and would be on cloud 9 if I get anything close to what you got. Great job!

I think the best way to find out if simply its a dye or has some merit in naturally turning grey hair into your normal color is to try it in the facial hair (for those that are sporting a beard). If facial hair keeps coming up in its original/natural color then this could be real.
