It looks the same color. If it is different it’s hardly noticeable. I’m still on the fence whether I’m going to continue using it. I’m not all that bothered by my grey. I’m starting to get a little in my beard, which is ginger. Maybe I can try that and see if there’s any difference.

what do you think about the peptide melanotan2? Has anyone already tried to use it?

On what day after using GR7 have you noticed the changes? I’m on day 5 and no changes, not even yellowing

Seems like you’re pointing to two disparate effects. How can it both stimulate the root and result in recoloring the hair shaft, and simultaneously be just a “surface” effect that can be removed via washing?

Do you consider anything applied topically that repigments hair biologically to be a dye? Topical minoxidil can also repigment hair via acting on the melanocytes, so would minoxidil just be a dye? If taking a pill of some sort repigmented hair, is that just a dye in a pill?

I feel like there’s a double standard when in comes to hair with people considering different compounds as dyes. The analogous argument for skin is tretinoin. This compound applied to the face results increased skin cell turnover that results in fewer wrinkles and younger looking appearance. Yet, does anyone say that tretinoin is just makeup, which has a similar effect?

Ouch that’s not good. I thought within couple times using it will start doing its magic. Though I think someone mention some visible results after 7 days.

Or maybe just soak some white hair cut from the head in the stuff. If cut hair turns dark; then it’s a dye. If only growing hair turns dark; then it really does switch pigmentation back on.

For most hairs, it took a couple of weeks in my case. The stuff smells bad, so that is annoying. Once the natural colour returns. It does not require much treatment anymore.

Received my $90 GR7 hair dye (may not be a dye lol) today and applied for first time. One thing I observed is the fact that I did not get any stains on my hands even though I used no gloves. So, maybe it is not just dye. Will report if it works. Mine did not have a too harsh or bad smell as some had reported previously.

Is there any logic to mixing rapamycin and L-tyrosine in some type of coconut oil and rosemary oil and applying it topically? Has anyone tried something similar to reverse gray hair and hair loss?

As a reminder L-tyrosine is what is listed as active ingredient in GR7 and other gray hair restoration products. Inositol is also in the GR7 ingredient list.

It’s been 3 weeks now and indeed the white hair mostly got back its color. Like GR7, it’s not that new hair grow colored at the root, it’s the whole hair which gets back its color.

Obviously that’s an N of 1 experiment which might not work for others and I didn’t compare with GR7.
That said people could try that as a cheap alternative to GR7 and switch to GR7 if that doesn’t work for them.

One point confuses me: the manufacturer claims that the product acts directly on the hair follicle, where melanin production is activated. And at the same time he says that your hair should have a minimum length of 1-2 cm. Then we will be able to observe the changes. Аnd at the end he says that if you stop using GR7 after 3-4 weeks, your hair will start turning gray again. What kind of melanin production is he talking about? I don’t see the logic in this.

By the way, in my country a similar product is sold, with the same effect, but much cheaper. There, too, you need to apply it for 21 days and then once a week. But the composition of the product is completely different and should be applied specifically to the hair, and not to the scalp. If anyone is interested, I can tell you more about it

Yeah something fishy. doubt it is a permanent solution but if the coloring looks natural and the fact it can be done once weekly for maintenance then it might be worth using. From what i can tell a bottle will last a long time done weekly, maybe a year or more (I only apply it on my sides, no grey anywhere else). Having said that, i had made a home remedy with couple aminos (Tyrosine, Glycine, NAC) with ground ginger(don’t ask me why ginger, cause I have no clue lol), purified water and some alcohol and been applying it for couple weeks, and I am certain that has reduced my grey by at least 50%. Now I’ve stopped my home Remedy and will be doing GR7 for next week. for two days using it I can definitely see a difference (for good) which is a bit of surprise but it may be because my natural hair color is blonde and perhaps it is faster/easier for it to change.

I have been taking NAC and tyrosine for quite some time and have not noticed any changes in color. The only thing I took incorrectly was without glycine. A week ago I just added glycine to NAC, let’s see what changes.

No, I meant I made a concoction that I applied to hair and scalp. Taking it (orally) I doubt would help to reverse gray hair.

I am interested to know what product it is in your country! Thanks!

Liquid tyrosine and nac? Or powder from tablets? And the gray hair has decreased by 50%? Can you tell me more about the recipe?

The product is called Антисильверин (Antisilverin). Costs about 5 dollars.

Compound:
Aqua, Glycerin, Sulfur, Ammonium Chloride, Citrate Вismuth, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum, Aqua, Polyethylene Glycol,Viola Tricolor, Tilia, Urtica Dioica, Equisetum Arvense, Arctium Majus, Сolloidal Silver.

Recommendations for use:

Pour a small amount of Antisilverin into your palm and apply to clean, dry hair without rubbing into the scalp. Moisten areas with the most gray hair more generously.
Comb thoroughly with a fine comb to ensure even distribution and leave on hair for several hours (at least 8-10 hours). If necessary, dry your hair with a hairdryer. After this time, you can wash your hair with shampoo. If you are satisfied with the condition of your hair, then you don’t have to wash your hair.
Use the product daily as described in the instructions until your hair returns to its natural color. Then use the product to maintain the achieved effect 1-2 times a week.

Description:

The silver-enriched Antisilverina formula acts at the cellular level, returning the natural color to the hair. The product does not need to be washed off: applied to the hair, the product is absorbed into the scalp and into the inner layers of the hairline, acting for up to eight hours and restoring the natural color and shine to the hair.

The colloidal silver concentrate added to the Antisilverin formula not only interacts with keratin, but is also an antioxidant, displacing harmful substances from the skin and hair.

Result:

Within 2-3 weeks of using the product, gray hair will regain its natural color.

I haven’t used it, but you can read one of the reviews: Средство для восстановления натурального цвета волос Две линии Антисильверин - «Седые волосы - можно ли восстановить прежний цвет? Теперь знаю, что - да. Седина обратима. Это не чудо, а прикладная биохимия. Фото "до" и "после" прилагаю» | отзывы

It was 10 OZ distilled water, 2-3OZ alcohol (no clue why) and it was Glycine powder about 1 teaspoon, actually one teaspoon taurine also (forgot it before) and then I put 3000mg/3gr Tyrosine from tablets (didn’t have powder, would have done a bit more) plus about 2mg/2gr NAc from tablets and I squeezed couple OZ of fresh ginger, and put the juice and the remnants of ginger in it. Wanted to do garlic also, but i knew it will make it smell bad, so decided not to. I kept applying twice daily and i was able to notice a difference, less grey hair, but not totally. having said that about the same time i started applying this to my hair, i also started taking (orally) copper (I never took it before) and zinc. Not sure if copper might have been the culprit or the concoction, but i did notice a decent improvement. I am pretty sure i saw some dark hair growing from the root also in my facial hair during this time. the effect on facial hair was detectable but i think a bit less so than with sideburns.

Clearly between my home made concoction and theee days of GR7 my grey hair on the sides is all but gone. First pic right now, second about three months ago. As you can see on today pic even facial hair there is way more black stubs coming out than three months ago. At that time my facial grey was more like 70% and now is more like 50%
