I am recently retired and would like to spend more time reading scientific papers; however, they are often behind paywalls. What are my options for searching for papers aside from Google searches?

If you’re trying to find a specific paper that is difficult to search for normally perplexity is a good service for that: https://www.perplexity.ai/

You can unlock most papers published pre-2020 by entering the DOI number in Anna’s archive: https://annas-archive.org/ or Sci-Hub: Sci-Hub: о проекте there’s not many paper there after that because of legal issues.

You can request newer papers shared by others on the Scholars subreddit and someone there might fulfill your request if you couldn’t find it on Anna’s archive or Sci-Hub.
