Can rapamycin and metformin be taken together?

Thanks.

Rapamycin and metformin are synergistic and should be taken together, IMHO. Metformin blunts some of the negative side effects of Rapamycin and enhances some of the positives.

There are a ton of discussions on this in the past; I recommend you review some of them: (there is a search feature on the top right corner of the page for doing this - the “magnifying glass” icon.

I do take metformin every day (500mg after each meal at 12:00 and 18:00), what I mean is if I take rapamycin after lunch weekly, should I skip taking metformin after this meal? I wonder if metformin affect the absorption of rapamycin?

thanks.

Meanwhile, I also take 300mg of canagliflozin 30min before lunch and 200mg of acarbose with each meal everyday. I also wonder if they will affect the absorption of rapamycin once a week? (I take rapamycin after lunch)

thanks

Metformin will increase the absorption of Rapamycin by a small amount.

Metformin will increase the absorption of Rapamycin; Grok thinks it’s synergetic.
