The shipment from Maulik that got lost in the mail was not replaced by him. I had to pay for a new shipment. However, he did give me a 20% discount on the second purchase.

Even though I had to pay twice, it was still about 5X cheaper than buying the meds in the USA. I will now have a courier bring me my meds as it’s the same price as having it shipped, and I don’t have to deal with customs or the mail service.

I placed an order just before the talk of tariffs, and the time-line was as usual : about 3 weeks from paying for my order to having it delivered. Got a tracking number that stopped updating once it got to NY. But again, that’s normal for me.

My package was ordered January 7, and still a no show.

That is unfortunate. Mine was ordered January 29, and made it. No doubt I had some luck.

@DeStrider I’m sorry to hear about your package. I made a large order so was pretty concerned about being out the wired funds but mine came through pretty smoothly. As far as I can tell it went to several customs portals in New York and arrived at my house in about 3 weeks. I had him divide the shipment into three packages and sent them to three different recipients (same address). So I don’t know if any of this made a difference. My Dog, wife, and I are set for about a year now so that’s a relief. Best of luck on the second try!

It’s starting to look likely that there will be significant tariffs on India products soon…

I honestly think - though obviously I might be wrong - that this whole tariff business is temporary. You can’t have tariffs with the whole world at the same time, we found out about that back in the 30’s with Smoot-Hawley, and this is much worse. Inflation is going to go up, recession or stagnation at the very least. Can they withstand it politically? Maybe, but I doubt it’ll be more than three years, because if the economy tanks, the midterms are going to be a doozy. And if the midterms go really badly, that will be the end of tariffs, and time to unwind the whole shebang. We’ll see. But that’s my gamble, so I stocked up for three years of Indian pharma products to survive the storm. If I’m wrong, well, I’ll worry about that then.

It is, however, possible for the US to have a tariff wall with the rest of the world and the rest of the world to trade with each other without tariffs. (or with the tariffs and non-tariff barriers).

People will deliberately buy from Canada rather than the USA because of Trump.

Trump is doing a lot of things that are basically Dumb.

Its not fair to the Americans who voted against Trump, but that is how things work.

By my calculations, I only have about 1 year of rapamycin, though I could stretch it to 2, if I’m more open to longer breaks.

Courier sounds like a good solution. From what I’ve been told, though, all the private courier services require prescriptions. I sometimes have prescriptions but never for every item in the order.

Would you describe the process of meeting that requirement? You email copies of the Rx’s to your supplier?

If i were to live in the USA, and I am sorry for those people who do, I would make sure I got what was essential at least until 2028. It is entirely possible that Europe pivots to China to avoid Trumpist America. Trumpist America will charge serious tariffs on rapamycin from anywhere. Even Canada is not safe from Trumpism.

Thx for this advice. I’ll work on placing an order this week to carry me over.

@DeStrider can you explain the courier option to me. I have no idea what this is!

It’s best to buy out to 2036, after Vance’s second term.

I have a special arrangement for my courier. I have an Indian friend who has a lot of friends or relatives visiting Hong Kong from India. I arrange for the meds to be sent to her cousin in India and then my friend arranges for someone to bring it to Hong Kong depending on who is coming next. I give them a gift worth roughly $30-40 USD for their efforts.

This time, the gift is 40 tablets of Rapamycin. Her father has a frozen shoulder so he wants to try it out. Sometimes it’s a bottle of whiskey. But at least the meds arrive safely.

Maybe others could do the same with friends in Canada or overseas that can bring a supply of medications across the border for personal usage?

I hate to say my post was prescient, but:

My Meds Were Seized By Customs!!! :frowning:

$650 USD worth of Bempedoic Acid, Galantamine, Dutasteride, Doxycycline, and Imunoquod Cream were all confiscated by the FDA at customs. Interesting that most of the individual lines listed weren’t in my order or in the package. The quantities are also off.

I will not and have never ordered Ivermectin.

Ah, you’ve been very luck for what seems like a long time, so I wouldn’t get too upset. Its a numbers game.

Yes. It appears my luck ran out. Now I’m worried about being flagged and losing more shipments. I guess I’ll go by courier from now on and take the meds for my parents when I visit them from Hong Kong. They mostly use Indian Bempedoic Acid, Jardiance and Galantamine. The rest they source locally.

$650 is also a huge order …

It was a year supply of each med. It was huge.
